Her actual name is Rem Saverem.
The only times she's in the shows is when it was about the colonization ships or when Vash is daydreaming or just dreaming.
Rem favorite flower is the Red Geranium. She said it symbolized courage and determination. While on her mission to find a planet to inhabit her exploration team found 2 babies. The crew were about to shoot them but Rem stopped them from doing so. Those 2 children were Vash and Knives. Rem took care of both of them while they were on the ship.
When Knives tried to crash all of the exploration ships, Rem went and sacrificed her life to save the lives of the other ships by changing the directions of the ships, that were also altered by Knives.

Lem, a nice girl who is aboard a space ship before everthing began on the planet where Vash is on. Evertime when Vash feels the need to kill somebody he always thinks of her saying: No one has the right to take away a life of somebody.
