Meryl is a serious minded insurance professional sent to keep track of Vash's activities in the interest of her company. At the beginning, she is unable to accept that the bumbling goofball that is Vash is the same man everyone believes responsible for so much death and destruction. Frustrated and angry with Vash at times, she finds herself unwittingly falling in love with him. She is also Milly's partner as well as being a crack shot with Deringer pistols.
