Ryoko-Balta is a humanoid/Wau crossbred, as she can go between her lion-faced self of Erma and her more human apperance. "Ryoko" is possibly not her real first name and is fair more likely that she took it from the susposedly dead Ryoko that Washu created from her egg. Regardless, Ryoko-Balta was one of the many space pirates that were running amok in space and made her appearance when Shank Tiran wanted Seinan dead. Ryoko-Balta took the form of her Wau-self, giving herself the name Erma and joined the GPA, living with Sienan, Kiniko and Amane and, despite her objective, took an instant liking to him and saying he could go out with her anytime he wanted. When her own crew threatened to mutiny, she lured Seinan out under a false pretence and was ready to kill him until he gaveher a pendant; this caused her heart to be filled with love and attempted suicide as repentence for her near betrayl only for the spying pair of Kiniko and Amane to stop her. She later revealed her true self to them and found they still liked her and was allowed to remain via Seto's orders.
Unlike the original Ryoko, Ryoko-Balta prefers to use her head when battling instead of going in with brute force, not given over to anger or rising to bait as easily and is an excellent hacker. She was also very popular with many of the male officers while she was still a criminal due to her beauty.
