Retasu is a very polite and sweet girl who goes to a Jr. High School with a lot of snobby and insultive girls who she wants to be friends with, she did this mainly by doing their homework and paying bills whenever they went out as a group, but it was clear that they did not like her. She happened to arrive on the scene at just about the time as a ghost was said to be haunting her school and her friends ordered her to take a picture of it, no doubt thinking she would chicken out and run away. Minto overheard this and, being bored, was determined to see it and dragged (literally) Ichigo around on a collar at night. Retasu was mistaken for an alein by Mini-Mew but escaped before she could be seen fully. The "ghost" as it turned out was really Retasu in her Mew Mew self of a mermaid and wanted to be more popular and thought she could do that if people thought she was a ghost (yeah, that made sense) and procceeded to try and drown the two other girls. It was only when Minto told her how she understood what it felt like to feel alone that she became their friend and started working at the Mew Mew Cafe herself. Retasu is your typical Not-so-pretty Jr. High girl with glasses too big for her most of the time, but her Mew Mew self looks like a prom queen (like all the Mew Mews)and you probably wouldn't recognize her, since she goes through a complete transformation.

Lettuce is a shy, scared person who dosen't like doing dangerous things. When it comes down to it, however, she will face the toughest challenges to do what's right.
She is very good friends with Ichigo, as well as the other Mew Mews. When they hire her to work at the cafe, you find that she is very, very clumsy. Hr special power can turn her lower torso into a fish's tail (mermaid).
