Altena is a mysterious woman who has high rank in The Soldats - an enormous organization. She wishes for "Le Grand Retour" (the Great Return). She is the one who plans, knows and controls all (but not entirely). Altena lives with Chloe in a place called "The Manor" - a medieval building in a great vineyard.
Altena's theme music is "Lullaby".

Age: UNKNOWN possibly late 30's to earily 40's (going by Kiruka and Mirelle's ages)

Also known as "Mistress Altena"
Personality: calm and quite; takes things lightly, never truly becoming upset. Motherly to Chloe.
Role:Altena is the woman who contains the truth
of the past of kiruka and Mirelle. Her true purpose serving the Soldats was to raise Noir; two maidens who govern death. Out of three saplings known as Kiruka,Mirelle and Chloe. By trying to raise Noir so she can bring about the Soldats old (the former way Soldats use to be. and also to gain power all over Soldats and Europe.

The mysterious Kind Mother who forms the black hands of Soldats that is Noir, Artena's serene contenance hides a commited and perhaps, fanatical, desire to see the old Soldats revived in the process called "Le Grand Retour", by using Noir to aid her. She resides in the place "forgotten by time", The Manor, with Chloe. Having experienced a traumatic childhood in a homeplace ravaged by war, she grew up with the belief that "If love can kill people, hatred can save them as well."

Altena is a powerful member of the Soldats and the supreme advocate within the organization of 'le Grand Retour.' To that end she selects three saplings, Chloe, Mirelle and Kirika, to endure the trials to become Noir. Of the three only Chloe knows who Altena is, although Kilika grew up with Altena and Chloe at Altena's manor and was later sent out into the world. Altena regards Chloe as a daughter, but she is less concerned with Chloe than with the restoration of Noir.

Altena is the leader of the Soldats. Spending most of her time in a place forgotten by time, called the manor she is hard to reach. Having a brutal life a child(for example being raped by a soldier who rescued her) her main goal is to revive the soldats of old by a ritual called the grand retour. She is like a mother figure to Chloe.
