Son of a Zeon's noble house, Brigadier Gen. Ginias Saharin is an engineering officer of the Zeon military and quite a genius to boot. Although he's has been ill since childhood and need to take drugs daily, in order to revive his family's fortune, he poured his mind, body and soul into the Asparas project, the result would be a weapon that could change the course of war into Zeon's favor.
However, not only his pet project claimed more of his meager health, it consumed his sanity - he killed his superior officer in order to prevent the plug being pulled offically; when the project was finished, he poisoned the entire R&D team; and even shoot his sister when she pled to him that the war is lost. He died on his creation's first mission, after barely left his base on the gigantic MA Asparas III.
