Koalla Su is mostly refered to as Su by the residents of the Hinata Apartments and is rather enthusiastic and a little eccentric in terms of her acts and speech. Kitsune taught her Japanese, but her thick Eastern accent and almond complextion leads most to mistake her for Indian. Su loves several things; Bananas, inventing machines that normally cause more harm than good, being happy, and clinging to someone, mostly Keitaro or Motoko. Her "genius" brain allows her to create many robots fashioned to resemble Tama, the little turtle she wants to eat sometimes. Su ran away from her home and on some nights when the moon is red, transforms into her adult self, though it may be closer to early 20s' or late teens. She is Shinobu's best friend and is hardly out of her company. Su is very fond of Keitaro because, according to her, he reminds her of her brother, although she says they look nothing alike. This pretty much makes her one of the girls in the dorms with a crush on Keitaro, she just doesn't get shy about it or pursue it that much.
It's implied Su is bisexual.
In the Manga:
Her design somewhat varies from a deeply-dark-skinned and scrawny to light and medium wideth. She denies being Indian and often goes on about her country, though does not reveal where it is or it's name until Keitaro is "abducted" by Seta. It would seem Keitaro is the only one who can make Su cry. While it's just implied in the anime, Su comes right out and says she thinks of herself as a mad scientist in the manga and she dreams of world domination, though whether or not she is just being silly is debatable.
In the Anime:
Her design has been rendered to that of a mildly-skinny caramel-skinned preteen who often wears a sailor fuku and more than not no shoes or socks. In addition to being able to transform, Su's also been issued "super powers" such as her "Lovely Tama-Tama Attack", which causes Tama to multiply. Su is often more or less with Shinobou in the anime's start and more frequently seen with Sarah towards the end of the anime.
Her family:
Lamba Lu: He is referred to as "Ramba Ru" in the manga. Lamba looks very much like a tanner version of Keitaro and is much more of a charmer and self-confident. His father was brother to Su and Amalla's father and meant to marry Su, regardless that Amalla truly was in love with him. He is the main cause for Su's transformation as she cannot decide whether to grow up and become a wife/queen or to stay young forever, as Lamba states people from their country actually DECIDE when to mature. Like Amalla and Su, Lamba seems to will his own victory and is the only known person able to avoid being kicked by Su. He is a nice person, but tends to put the duties his station calls before the concerns of his adoptive "sisters".

In The Anime:
Kaolla, though she is addressed by Su unless her older sister Amalla (who has the same last name) is present. Su is energetic, playful, has a slight accent that leads people to beleive she is from India when she is really a native (and second-oldest princess of) an island MolMol and makes it a habit of using Keitaro as her own personal jungle gym and has only occasionally flirted with him.
Because Su grew up with her sister and her cousin Lamba, who she addressed as "Big Brother", she is something of a slightly ecentric character. When her and Amalla's father died, their uncle and Lamba's father took over as king and arragned for her and Lamba to marry. This is pretty much the reason she ran away to Japan.
She is also a super genius who makes machines themed after Tama, the little flying sea turtle, which happen to be more of a threat than anything.
It's only when she becomes an adult that she appears attracted to Keitaro, since she's tried to kiss him twice.
In The Manga:
In the manga it seems Keitaro is the only person who can make Su cry because deep down like Shinobou,Naru and Motoko, she seems to really be in love with him.
Su is a very clingy person in the manga, too and takes to Motoko right away after meeting her. If Motoko isn't around, you should run because if she catches you in her sights, you become her new special friend and follow you around like a lovesick puppy, like she did to Keitaro.
Like in the anime, in the manga Su seems to be able to transform when the red moon shines on her, though it happens a bit more often and this manga version of the Adult-Su successeds where the anime Adult-Su has failed twice. It seems her little "crush" on Kei-Baby gets the best of her and she attempts to marry and get "some juice" from her "big daddy", much to Keitaro's horror! Su's number one dream is to marry Keitaro, the second's to take over the world, since she thinks of herself like a mad scientist.

At the beginning of Love Hina. We first see Su dressed in an army uniform playing with toy tanks. She uses the tanks to blow Keitaro away because he is an "intruder". Su is an easy character to get used to, she is the exact definition of the care-free character. Su is also highly intelligent by creating the Mecha Tama-chan's, defensive weapons, and other devices.
Although, outside her fun exterior, inside is an adult who wants to find her "Oniisan" (Big Brother). She is torn apart from her wishes to live a care-free and fun life and the need of her Oniisan wanting her to grow up.
Su is a very enjoyable character by her actions alone. With the constant ideas of food and "her style" of cooking, which makes her such a fun character to watch. Despite her problems she still is able to create such great devices and is able to attack Keitaro from out of the blue.

IN CHRISTMAS SPECIAL:
Koalla is searching around for gifts
together with Sarah at the beginning.
Later, she is spying on Naru, together
with Mitsune, Shinobu, Aoyama and Sarah.
They follow Naru to Tokyo, and finds
her together with Seta. When Keitaro
comes and sees Naru together with Seta,
he runs away. Then they search after him
trough Tokyo.
