Ryo was first a gang leader than when he got possed by tokogero and after a while he became a shaman and tokegaro became his gardian gohst.

Yoh first meets Rio at Monument Hill, which is also where he meets Amidamaru. He and Rio get into a fight and Yoh slices Rio's Quiff of, which really pisses him off, but later they become good friends.
Rio gets possesed by Tokegaroh, a lizard spirit who wants revenge on Amidamaru. After Rio leaves Yoh, Yoh's father helps him become a better shaman and Rio takes on Tokegaroh as his gaurdian spirit.

Bokutou no Ryu, :P He's cool with his huge thumb oversoul. But he's bisexual since he had the hots for Anna, Lyserg and he made out with Billy (the truck guy) several times. But his First Oversoul Medium of Tokageroh with wheels and the 7 or 8 snake heads is awesome. Especially when combined with Mephisto E and Yoh's 2nd medium of the Spirit of Sword.

Ryu is the leader of the dead enders he was a threat to yoh and morty(aka manta)when they first met him. Ryu met tokagaru in the womans bathroom in an abandon bowling ally where tokagaru eveadently posessed ryu in to trying to kill amedamaru:( but amedamaru is not defeted and tokagaru becomes an ally:D
