Shiori was best friends with Juri in childhood, however she transferred away from Ohtori and then transferred back. She transferred away because she 'stole' a boy whom Juri supposedly liked away from Juri. Shiori soon discovers Juri's true feelings, which leads her to become a Black Rose duelist. Later she becomes involved with Tsuchiya Ruka, serving as his rose bride in their efforts to defeat Utena and win the power to bring the world revolution.
