18 years old and a quiet and sensitive kind of guy. He is not open towards his feelings and is also part of the F4. Very laid back and is always found at the emergency stairways during school. Rui is an introvert that only expresses himself through music, playing the violin.

Hanazawa Rui
Rui is the most laid back member of the F4. He's quiet, somewhat moody and hard to figure out. He's also a loner of sorts. He often cuts a solitary figure playing his violin at the fire escape staircase, and when he gets into quarrels with the hot-headed Doumyouji he stands alone while Soujiro and Akira stand on Doumyouji's side.
Childhood playmate Shizuka is the sole object of his adoration, but then he also seems to reserve special affection for Tsukushi. It's not always clear what he's thinking though, as his behaviour towards her fluctuates from cold and abrupt to friendly and caring. In times of trouble he's there for Tsukushi, and soon he becomes her pillar of strength, as well as the person she secretly admires and looks up to.
