We first see Sanjuro in the first episode fishing and catches a Crimson Knight helmet which he throws back. He has been friends with Hotaru since that time, too and tends to be very serious when it comes to taking care of business. Sanjuro happens to be an original .Hacker from the time the virtual world of The World was in danger of the Twilight and knows almost as much as Balmung, who was also an original .Hacker. It's Balmung who gives him the task of training Shugo, which at first seems to be a waste of his time, but soon becomes proud of how strong Shugo has become when hackers kidnap Rena. Shugo's calling him "Master" seems to play on his not-so-often-shown ego.

Sanjuro was assigned to train Shuugo by Balmung, since he is a total noob at "The World". He was also one of the people who helped Kite during his adventure.
The first time he sees Shuugo he mistakes him for Kite.
I forget but he is either a "Heavy Blade" or a "Blademaster"....*_*'.
