I only started watching the anime, so I don't know much about his father, but it's obvious that he is concerned for his son too. Like his mother, he wants him to be more active, instead of lying around all day. He is the one who found Gash in a forest in England and saved him from death. Gash was grateful and insisted on returning the favor. The dad bids Gash to go to his son and keep an eye on him. He wanted him to help Kiyo become more like a regular teenager and make friends. He also wanted him to become friend's with Kiyo too and support him. With that said, Gash flies off clinging onto a huge Eagle named Owashi, and heads off to find Kiyomaro.
Mr. Takamine is a professor and currently doesn't live with Kiyo and his mother. Gash delivered a note to Kiyo from the father asking Kiyo to help Gash find his way home safely. The note also said to study and learn about what is inside of the red book that was found with Gash, since apparently, it is the only clue to who Gash is (since Gash lost his memories). Being the genius that he is, his father figured it should be easier for him.
