When Akito decides that a person is to have their memory erased in order to protect the Sohma secret, Hatori is the man to do it. The Sohma Curse has caused Hatori much pain in the past & only wishes that anyone outside that family stay away from the secret that could ruin their life. Naturally suspicious of others, Hatori's zodiac animal is the dragon (Seahorse).

Souma Hatori, is at first glance, a cold and heartless figure. As the Souma clan's doctor, he usually spends his time caring for the always ailing Akito. Hatori is partially blind in one eye, the reason for which is explained in the show. He likes to smoke and is the Juunishi dragon, or seahorse. His closest friends are Ayame and Shigure.
