With a name meaning "none" or "zero", Ren was a sort of "factory reject" of the DearS project. Assigned to reluctant Master Ikuhara Takeya, she undergoes a grueling learning process of how to be a respectable DearS.

A dearS that has the zero number cause she is a defect to be start with but accidentally found by Takeya and become his slave (Or his girl). She and Takuya possess the legendary Gift that will unite both of them forever.

A DearS that Takeya finds and (reluctantly) takes in with him. In the beginning she behaves much like Chii (of Chobits) but seems to be a bit easier to teach. Though she seems quiet and passive at first she does seem to learn fast. However that doesn't stop her from being a source of trouble for poor Takeya.

Renrenrennangusaranrenshiarurunnrennakora or Ren for short is a very shy and quiet DearS. She crash-landed on Earth and she didn't know any Japanese until she learned it all in one night from dictionaries. She dresses rather skimpily which I don't think she knows any better. All the boys like her and all the girls are jealous of her. Her long greenish blue hair, her redish eyes and the symbol on her forehead give her a innocent look.
