Youngest among the members, Vanilla was raised from a very religious society, and that's where she learned how to control nanomachines either as medical tools or repair ships during battles. In order to maintain full control of the nanomachines, she has to keep her emotions in check, that explained why she always looks emotionless.
When the nanomachines are not in use, they form into a small animal, which Vanilla called them simply as "nanomachine pets".

Her head dress might make people mistaken her for an android, but she's just as organic as her teammates.
