Orihime is one of Ichigo's classmate who posses a different kind of weapon (Which is focus on healing and defence), the first thing you will notice on her is her Boobies who is a bit larger for a high school girl and her cooking ability (Actually the only person who can eat her home made cooking is Vice Captan Yamamoto)

Orihime is one of Ichigo's classmates but they first met 3 years ago when she took her brother to the Kurosaki clinic after the accident that killed him. She lives alone (and after the fight between her brother turned Hollow and Ichigo, she apparently got thrown out of her apartment). She tends to be ditzy and accident prone, and is also cheerful and sweet.
Her best friend is Tatsuki, they've known each other since the second year of middle school, when Tasuki helped her stand up to some bullies who went after Orihime because of her hair colour, and cut her hair off. Since then, she's kept her hair long, as a sign of trust in Tatsuki's protection.
She also seems to have a bit of a crush on Ichigo, but he's completely oblivious to it, and she doesn't seem to be chasing him *very* hard. *grin* Though she seems very dense, she's one of the top students in school (ranks 3rd)... when she gets her assignments right, Orihime is also surprisingly perceptive about people - Ichigo, for instance, like during their conversation in volume 7...
Her contact with Hollows and Ichigo's spiritual powers caused her own spiritual powers to awaken. They are revealed for the first time when a Hollow attacks the school and Tatsuki gets hurt. Her power takes the form of six "fairies", who when not in use take the form of the hair clips Orihime wears (they were a gift from her brother before he died.) Her powers allow her to make shields, heal injuries and attack from a long distance.
