Hakase is a plain girl who wears glasses and is thought of as a mad scientist. Many think she built and prgrammed Chachamaru, as she is always experimenting on her.
In the anime;
She's a member of the Science club and is often seen with Chao. Hakase needs Negi's magic to power an original time machine. Before that she is seen the first day in class tinkering with Chachamaru and then adds her torso to a lawnmower/tank, which seems to embarass Chachamaru. Hakase doesn't seem able to resist adding dangerous features to Chachamaru.
As Negi's Pactio partner, she wears an excoskeleton-like mecha and has an attack called Big Muscle.
In the manga;
Hakase discovers Chachamaru is in love with Negi after several experiments result in the robot exhibiting human reactions, but keeps it secret. She seems to be in league in whatever illegal affair Chao is wanted for.

She's part of the robotics club and jet propulsion club. There isn't much information on her but it is known that she helps maintain Chachamaru and maybe even helped built her since she always experiments on her.
