Misaki is the protagonist of the story. She first came to Tokyo to live with her aunt, Shoko. She watches a fight between the Angel Athena and another angel on the big screen tv near the train station. With the help of Icchan, later known as Mihara Ichiro, she gets her own angel and customizes it, giving it the name Hikaru. She starts playing Angelci Layer.
She comes to love the game and eventually, joins official tournaments with help and support from her friends and fellow deus(The one who owns and controls an angel).
She is especially skilled and naturally talented in the game despite being a beginner and she has a good eye on seeing moves. Misaki is able to copy moves even just by seeing it once.
She designed Hikaru, her angel, to be small but happy and energetic to prove that being small is nothing to be afraid of. Her friend Tamayo gives her the nickname "Misakichi" in order to make her name "sound cuter."

Misaki Suzuhara is the main character of Angelic Layer. Her doll/angel is Hikaru (named after a doll her mother bought her).
I find her really annoying.
