The actual spelling of his name is Sven Vollfield. A former IBI agent whose partner died in an assignment gone wrong. His Partner Lloyd Goldwyn had clairvoyance*. This allowed him to see what was going to happen to Sven. At that time Lloyd was at his daughter's birthday party. So Sven decided to arrest the target by himself so he wouldn't bother Lloyd. But because of Lloyd's vision he saw Sven's ill-fated death. So he hurried to the site where sven is supposed to die. Then he through himself in front of a barrage of bullets, severely wounding himself in the process. But before Lloyd was died he donated his right eye to Sven. To replace Sven's current eye which was injured by a wrench. Because of Lloyd's donation Sven inherited lloyd's ability to foresee things before they happen. Which ended up with Sven naming it the Vision eye. But later in the series his vision eye develops into the Grasper eye. Which allows him to see farther into the furture using less energy, along with the ability to alter the future. He originally used a pistol when he was in the IBI. But now his weapon-of-choice is a suitcase with various gadgets in it such as sleeping gas, wings for quick escapes, a net launching device, and something similar to a flashbang*.
Clairvoyance: The ability to foresee an event before it happens.
Flashbang: A special grenade that emits light and sound to stun enemies.

Likewise with Train, Sven's backstory remained more or less the same.Also, Sven never went through intensive training before the assault on Clarken Island, and as such his Vision Eye never became the Grasper Eye. Sven is also many times referred to as "old man", even though he's only 30. This might result from his attitude of a gentleman which practically turns him into the most careful of the show's characters. Sven, together with Train, saves Eve, and in the end he decides to raise Eve like her "daughter". When Eve tells Sven if he's going to look for Train, he replies that he doesn't need to, as he's a stray cat, and they'll eventually meet.

Sven is kind of weird... He is obsessed of being a "gentlement". Before he used to be a cop. Back then he had a friend with an eye that can let him see into the future. His friend dies by sacrifying his life to sven and now Sven has that eye. He is very caring, mostly to Eve and just loves slapping or hitting Train... rofl

Sven Vollfie is a freelance sweeper, a combination of bounty hunter and assassin. Formerly an international police officer, he enters the story of Black Cat at the request of Rinslet Walker to help her rescue Eve. His eyepatch covers an eye that allows him to see the immediate future of events, and has as-yet unrevealed combat potential only hinted at in early episodes. He carries a briefcase that contains gadgets for nearly every situation and is perpetually obsessed with maintaining the appearance of being a "gentleman," a title he stores great pride in.
