Yuki Eiri

Eiri Yuki is quite an interesting character. Having a very stubborn and blunt personality, it's amazing how many women fall for him regardless. As an established writer of love novels, he's won Japanese Literature Awards for his notable skills. He is very critical of anything in writing, and this is probably one of the reasons he coldly insults Shuichi's lyrics. Yuki does not mind isolation and has an expression of indifference and uninterest for the crazy fangirls who pursue him. Yuki is quite isolated in the beginning of the series and lives in a gigantic mansion by himself. He is more dominant and opts mostly for his pleasure only. Upon his first meets with Shindou Shuichi, his dislike for the boy is very apparent. However, Yuki is not dumb, and he knows that Shuichi has feelings for him since their first meeting in the park. For his own reasons, Yuki kisses Shuichi around the second day they meet, even though he once told Shuichi that he wasn't interested in other guys.

Yuki has a habit of smoking and drinking, but not too excessively. One may conclude that he smokes to ease the pain of his past, for he's been trying for the entire series to forget the memories. He takes medicine and tranquilizers on a regular basis to help him endure the pain of his memories, but Shuichi's presence and his uncanny resemblance to Yuki's younger self has forced him to slowly recall his past. This is why he was later hospitalized, for his condition had become worse. Yuki tends to push Shuichi away again and again, repeatedly saying negative things to him and lowering Shuichi's spirits. However, Yuki's simply trying to keep Shuichi from harm, since he thinks Shuichi is better off without him.

Aside from Shuichi, Yuki has many other people who love him. His sister Mika cares quite a bit about him, but Yuki always pushes her away and does not tell her anything. Mika's husband Tohma also expresses feelings towards Yuki, not only as his brother-in-law, but even more at times. It seems Tohma may have a thing for Yuki.^_^

To Yuki, Shuichi is an annoying little brat but cute at times. To Shuichi, Yuki's the greatest thing since sliced bread. :P Shuichi can get very hyper at times and annoy Yuki, causing Yuki to say something he doesn't mean and attempting to end their relationship. Shuichi tends to be overly dramatic at times, shouting out "Yuki's MINE!" during their first Bad Luck concert, crashing through the walls to 'protect' Yuki, and even crossdressing because he thought that's what Yuki wanted. Yuki on the other hand does everything he can to get rid of Shuichi, even telling him that he's killed a man once to try to turn Shuichi away. This is mainly because Yuki doesn't want to hurt Shuichi in anyway, and he thinks that his relationship with Shuichi will taint Shuichi's reputation, as Tachi threatened to do. Yuki thinks staying away from Shuichi will be best for the hyperactive nineteen year old. When all of Yuki's attempts to get rid of Shuichi doesn't work, he turns away himself and moves away. Nevertheless Shuichi manages to find him time and time again, even when Yuki goes to New York. Shuichi stampedes around Japan looking for Yuki and trampling everyone's houses. *sweatdrop*

When faced with the topic of romance, Yuki couldn't be more at a loss. He has trouble finding a decent way to express his love for Shuichi other than ridiculously glomping all over his significant other like Shuichi does. Therefore Yuki tends to insult Shuichi in practically every way possible, constantly calling him annoying, irritating, bothersome, and an idiot. What he does is use verbal irony, since deep in his heart, he really likes Shuichi and finds him "cute." Yuki keeps his promises, as he promised Shuichi he'd take him out on a date if Bad Luck sold a million records (only to K's persistance however). When they were on the date, Yuki did pretty much everything Shuichi wanted, which was a change since Shuichi usually does everything he thinks Yuki would like.

Yuki may seem like a heartless person on the outside, but he's really a sensitive and compassionate guy who would go far to protect someone he loves.

Yuki is probably the most obnoxious and stubborn character in Gravitation, but there's something about him that makes people like him.^_^ He's very caring deep down inside, although he'd rather be dead than admit that he has any feelings for anyone or anything. There are several occasions where we see Yuki's caring side, such as when he found out that Shuichi had been beaten up by Tachi, the lead singer of ASK, and his henchmen. There's also a presumably homeless cute feline that's often seen outside of his mansion, and Yuki sort of takes care it and feeds it. Yuki was not always so grim and untrusting. He was once a carefree and genki young boy (hard to imagine ne?) but an incident in his past caused him to change. He's a very stong person though, both physically and mentally. Even with memories of his past, he's able to endure it like a man and able to live on. However, the incident does scar him, and he seldom smiles, I think he only did once when Shuichi was trying to comfort him when he was crying. Shuichi was saying something stupid and then laughing hysterically, and that seemed to relax Yuki. You have 1 image of him smiling during the ending credits. He spends most of his time writing love novels, and he's quite good in them too. He's won Japanese Literature Awards and he's very popular in Japan. His love novels have violence and death in them though, he thinks it makes the story more intersting.

Yuki Eiri is one of Japan's most popular novelists[especially among women]He was first introduced as a mean, blunt, cold person; but as the show progresses, he becomes a warm and gentle person[especially with Shuichi *wink.wink*]

*SPOILER* Later on, it was discovered that his real name is not Yuki, but really Uesegi Eiri! He took on the name Yuki because that was the name of his personal tutor when he was living in New York with Tohma. [I leave it at that, so there won't be too much spoilage.]

Eiri Uesugi, known as Eiri Yuki on stage, is a popular romance novelist that met Shuichi Shindou in the park and mercilessly dismissed his song lyrics. Through coincidence, they keep bumping into each other, and eventually come together romantically. Despite having the media on them 24/7, Eiri struggles to deal with the guilt and confusion of murdering his tutor (from whom Eiri gets his pen name and frequently used nickname, "Yuki") for gang rape. This experience left him cold, but throughout the series, he is seen softening under Shuichi's influence, and finally confront his memories of his late tutor.

Eiri Uesugi is a japanese romance novelist. He has two books published in the series. One was intitled "cool" while the other one was not yet given a name. It is recommended "lover" as a title though. Eiri yuki is a high educated man with a bad attitude. He is numb on things that involves other person. It is all because of his dark pass so he is trying to hide all emothions in him.

He is Shuichi's lover. He shows few emotions at all. He then changes as we go further to the series. He really is caring for Shuichi. The reason for his coldness is because he killed his first love deliberately when he was about to touch Eiri. He became cold to protect himself from getting hurt again.
