Kaoru fights with Yahiko and Sano a lot because they always complain about her cooking...(which is awful) oh well! Kenshin can cook... Kaoru Kamiya is one of the few female characters who can fight back and protect the others.

The main female character of this anime. She was the acting master of kamiya Dojo which was founded by his father with the aim to "save people's life with sword". after meeting Kenshin, she fell in love with him very much.

Lives alone in the kamiya Dojo, founded by her father. She took his place when her father died and has been teaching the kamiya Kassin ryuu technique. Just as her dojo was about to go under due to a murderer killing in the Kamiya name, a strange red haired wanderer shows up and changes her life forever.

the only one left to take over her father's Kamiya Dojo, Kaoru is the not so... lady-liked girl with a very strong will (more like stubborn to me ^^;;; shes so cute) to protect the dojo (and keep kenshin~~ *stop it evelyn* ...kay..) She met kenshin during the first episode of the series and attacked him for he was carrying a sword, at that time, some evil guy was going around claiming he's the legendary Hitokiri Battousai, spoiling the dojo's name.
Kaoru CANNOT cook or wash AT ALL. her food is pretty ... unedible *ducks flying bricks* =_+ but yes, shes very very cute~
