Info: Yahiko is a 10 year-old descendant of the prestigious Tokyo Shizoku. Unfortunately, Yahiko's parents died during the Boshin War and he became an orphan, he was taken in and raised by a gang since. One day, he meets Kenshin (or I should say he is trying to steal Kenshin's wallet). Kenshin finds out what is happening to Yahiko so he breaks into the gang headquarters and defeats everyone and saves Yahiko.

As a young orphan boy, he used to work for gangsters as a thief, bringing back whatever he had stolen. In the beginnning of the TV series, he is 11 years old. He met the kenshin-gumi when he tried to rob kenshin of his wallet (that contained money), but kaoru was with kenshin and spotted his missing wallet and accused the boy of stealing. But kenshin just gave yahiko his wallet, saying that if he needed money, he could just ask or work for it. but then when kenshin and kaoru turned to leave, yahiko threw thw wallet back at kenshin and yelled that he didn't need his charity. surprising him, kenshin caught the wallet that was headed for his head smoothly. that gave yahiko a BIG shock. then yahiko ran off, (or something i think..). then kenshin and kaoru found out more about yahiko's background from some stupid resource, and kaoru took her bokken and ran to the 'inn' where the gangsters stayed and challenged the leader, so the leader said he would let yahiko go if she gambled with him and won. by luck kaoru won, but being gangsters, they were sore losers and did not allow him to go, saying that his mother owed them a sum of money for treatment to her illness before she died and that yahiko would pay them back by working for them. kaoru fought them and then was losing when kenshin, well, kinda barge in shoved the leader's head up the ceiling with the handle of his sakabatou. then yahiko stayed with kaoru and kenshin at the kamiya dojo and learned the kamiya kasshin ryuu. he looks up to kenshin as a role model and wishes to become a samurai like kenshin when he grows up. he hates being called yahiko-chan (meaning little yahiko) by kaoru and sanosuke (who later joined them) and enjoys calling kaoru 'busu'(meaning ugly) and calling sanosuke 'tori-atama' (meaning rooster-head) and biting sano's head. Him and sano argue over food and he completely hates and makes fun of kaoru's cooking (which is quite inedible). he has a crush on tsubame (from the akabeko). he is now part of the kenshin-gumi (aka: kenshin, kaoru, snaosuke, yahiko).
