Alex Louis Armstrong, the strong Arm Alchemist, also a major in the army, plays many roles in protecting the elrics, including asigning people to protect them while they researched Marco's notes in Central. Also he carried out Hues' will in later episodes trying to help Mustang "climb to the top"

Major Armstrong Uses a unique combination of alchemy and streangth to attack his opponets, and can transmute anything he punches.
