Kira _is_ the sword Nanatsuya and if the crystal, where the sword is in, is destroyed then so are Kira.
Kira is Setsuna's friend. Well, if you can call it friend.
He help Setsuna with his "messiah" thing, alot.

Kira is the bodywith the living spirit of Nanatsuya(the 7 bladed sword). Immortal to an extent he grew weak in the body of Sakuya. He's stayed immortal or reincarnated so many times with alexiel's reincarnation by his side. He is only immortal or you can only tell it's nanatsuya because of a blood splatter on his chest. The spirit of nanatsuya has never felt any emotions or felt any remorse towards anyone...maybe except for Setsuna....??? one never knows.....
