(I watched the Japanese version, the names are different than in English so I'm just going to use the names in original version. Try to understand..) Crook Bu who is Usopp was always cowardly, his legs always shaking. But aside from that, he was a liar and always ran through the village saying "Pirates are coming!" The only person that believed him was Coya, a sick girl under the depression of her dead parents. Everyday he would climb the tree next to Coya's room and talk to her, saying untruthful lies about his 'adventures' like slaying the big goldfish on the sea. Another person, named Khladore, was supposed to assist Coya now that her parents were dead. But actually, he was the legendary pirate Volo who was assumed to be dead. Khladore wanted to take away all of Coya's riches, but in the end when Crook Bu told Coya, she finally didn't believe him- now that it was true, Crook Bu gets really mad and hurt at her words. He runs away and finds himself in trouble with Khladore. Luckily, Nami, Suron(Zoro) and Luffy are there to also help him fight. Finally, Coya finds out the truth seeing it herself, and runs away trying to outrun Khladore's helper, who is a hypnotist and can actually make things happen, like making her write a will giving all the money to Khladore. Then, the hypnotist would hypnotize her to kill herself. In the end, Coya was rescued and Crook Bu decided to go on the sea and join Luffy's crew so that he could become the bravest warrior of the sea.

Usopp is a good guy for a pirate wanna be with one exception, he's a pathological and compulsive liar! If he's ever terrified of being hurt he'll make some lame excuse and run for his life. He was once a pirate captain to three children known as the veggies who bought every lie he told and was also friends with a seriously sick girl named Kia. When it was discovered by him and Luffy that Kia's butler Klahadore was actually the supposedly dead Kuro, the most feared captain pirate ever who had staged his own death and planning to raid the mansion she lived in and desroy the village Usop tried to save Kia, but because of his reputation, she thought he was lying and didn't believe him until she saw the truth herself and joined in the small army consisting of Zolo, Luffy, Nami, and the veggies against Kuro after the Black Cats were done in by him and his hypnotist Jango.
Usop is an expert archer who has his own homemade slignshot and is very accurate.

Third crew member
Usopp is a good liar and an excellent sniper!
His weapons are a self-made sling and a hammer...
He is also good at repairing or building stuff.
Since he is rather weak and a coward he tries to avoid every fight... and thats the reason he joins Luffy's crew : he wants to become a "brave warrior of the sea"
