Sakaki is the "cool" girl at her school.She's a quiet and mysterious person who mangages to do well in school.She has an unbelievable athletic ability.Although Sakaki appears to be the perfect "super-woman",she has a secret.She is secretly a die heart cat-lover and loves other cute things.Unfortunatly when she tries to pet a cat it always bites her.Sakaki has a secret jealously of Chiyo because she is cute.Sakaki would prefer to be cute than cool.Over the series,hanging out with her friends has opened her up and made her happier with herself.

Though she seems calm and cool on the outside, most of the things going on in Sakaki's head involve anything cute, but usually she's thinking about cats. Sakaki is extremely tall, and if the girls get lost in a crowd, they know where to meet up, at Sakaki! She wants to be small and cute like Chiyo-Chan, and doesnt' think much good of her looks. Though she doesn't do any spoorts, she always does great at the sports festival. Sakaki can not keep her favorite things, cats, because her parents can't handle them.

Sakaki is the coolest girl in school. Until you put a cat anywhere near her, anyway. Then she becomes a sort of self nominated surrogate mother to any and all felines. It is a shame, then, that when ever she comes within two feet of said animals, their primal instincts kick in, and she is lucky to get away with her fingers intact.
This unhappy state on affairs is partially turned around by Tadakichi-san, Chiyo's faithful friend, and later finished the full circle with Maya, The irimote wildcat Sakaki discovers on the class trip to Okinawa.
It is a good thing that the writers have a heart, after all. I was begining to have doubts.

The TRUE Sakaki loves animals. Everyone thinks she is so cool that it's intimidating in school, but in reality, she wants to have close friendly relationships and join clubs and meet new people. She loves cats, but is terrible with them. Every cat she meets runs away or bites her. The only animal she has shown to be good with is Chiyo-Chan's dog, Tadadakichi-san.
