Lala is the alien princess of Devilluke, who escaped to earth in an attempt to break free from an arranged marriage.
She quite literally fell into Rito's life, and after he stood up for her and her freedom, she fell in love with him, and accepted him as her new unwitting fiance.
She has a very bubbly, outgoing personality, and is very open in her affections towards Rito.
She can also be air-headed at times, not reading the atmosphere correctly, before acting.
She very rarely gets angry, and has a naive charm about herself, wishing everyone around her well.
She cares deeply for her friends (particularly Rito) and will not hesitate to protect them, often times making a physical stand to aid them. Just as well she is so physically strong then to help her do so ^^
She also often uses her inventions and contraptions in an attempt to remedy or improve situations, but almost always makes things worse, due to their unpredictable nature.
Her biggest weakness is her tail, which renders her vulnerable, if grabbed (this is no doubt a tribute to Dragon Ball).
As time has passed, Rito has grown considerably more affectionate for Lala, and has even, from time to time, been shown to have somewhat romantic feelings for her.
