Description

Based on ever popular Gundam series and merchandise, Amino Tetsuro created a Parody of Gundam series, featuring "Super Deformed" Gundam. That basically means a squished down version both of the characters and the mechas in a 1:1 head and body proportion. Throw in a lot of comedic situations in them; SD Gundam series successfully generated more income in toy and merchandise selling than the original Gundam series combined. As for the animation, SD Gundam spawn couple OVAs and short movies, such as the original SD Gundam (1988, 10 episodes), SD Gundam Mark I-IV (1988, 4 episodes), SD Warrior Gundam (1989, 2 episodes) and SD Gundam Side Story (1990, 4 episodes).
