Makimura Kotaro is a normal student living a normal life. One day in July as summer break draws near, he decides to confess his love to Serizawa Kaho. However, when he wakes up the next morning, he finds that he has somehow jumped to the 1st of September and summer break has already ended.
Although confused by this, he goes to school. There, he finds his classmates in mourning and eventually he realizes that Kaho had become his girlfriend, but that she had been killed in an accident on the 31st of August.
Kotaro time-travels back to the day before he first became acquainted with Kaho and tries to find a way to change that grim future. And so his long summer vacation beyond space and time begins.
