It is present day; however, its history is slightly different from ours.
With the thaw of the cold war, the significance of the existence was faded, and the US Army Force in Japan was decreasing its size.
However, the encroachment of Japanese territory by unidentified airplanes began to increase in numbers as if they waited for the competition of the US Amy's diminishment. The violations of the territory were escalating, and finally, it developed into the firing incident over civil planes and Self Defense Force (SDF) planes.
Japanese government took the matter seriously, and considered the improvements in the air defense capability, and submitted the reinforcement proposal of the SDF to the Parliament. However, because of the economic depression, the resolution ran into difficulties. It became apparent that it would take time to enact the bill. The government worried about the protraction of the argument, and it submitted the amended bill, "Self Defense Forces private sector practical use bill"; in stead of making increase of the personnel of the SDF into the half of the first plan, SDF commissioned private enterprises some of its duties.
This bill, which would bring the decrease of the defense budget and job creation under the economic slump, was approved relatively smoothly.
This was how, private security enterprises that carried out a part of SDF duties by operating fighter planes were founded one after another.
Kirihara Takuma worked for a small private security company, Sakota Aviation Security, and drove an old type single-seater plane, Lockheed F-104J. He was an ace pilot who could exceed the latest art fighter by his outstanding operation technique and self-possessed calm judgment. He was the only one pilot in the company who refused to ride on the double-seat plane, F-4EJ, and continued adhering to the single-seater plain. Such his attitude looked pathetic. Kanai Misuzu was a young maintenance woman, and had a kindness for him. She felt uneasy for him, and she wanted to become his oasis.
One day, SDF sent educational pilot candidates to his company. Among them, there was a beautiful girl. She was Miyauchi Yue, who wanted to become a pilot. Before long, that good-natured and pretty girl became an idol. However, she displayed deep animosity only to Kirihara.
What had become of the two? Why did Kirihara adhere to the single-sheater?
