| Hanazono Karin is a below-average junior high student trying hard to please her aunt, whom she lives with. Her parents have passed away, leaving her their only mementos: a cat named Shii-chan and her mother's ring, but eventually Shii-chan passes away too.
While visiting his grave, Karin meets an haughty boy named Kujyo Kazune. It is not until the following day when she meets his cousin, Himeka, that she begins to learn her ring contains the mysterious power of transforming her into a goddess, and there are others who seek to take the ring from her!
