In the spring of his first year of high school, Oyagi Saku returns to the town he had lived in during his first and second years of grade school. There, he reunites with the nemesis of his youth, Akeno Mihoshi, cause of much of the traumatic memories of his childhood. Saku's hopes for a peaceful school life are dashed as he gets caught up in the incorrigible Mihoshi's pace and is dragged into her Astronomy Club.
Almost immediately, Saku discovers that the Astronomy Club is not held in high esteem by Femin, the school's Student Council President. However, together with the others in the Astronomy Club, i.e. Mihoshi, her close friend Sayo, Saku's secret admirer Hime, the physically weak Club President Roma, and the Photography Club's Edokawa (who nevertheless spends a lot of time with the Astronomy Club), Saku's love for the night sky is kindled.
