how many are watching this? wITH ALL THe numerous anime titles out there as well as the vast amounts of episodes for One piece,
how many of you hard core anime/one piece fans are still watching this?
i know for sure that i am!!!! i just finished episode 241 and i must say there are FEW animes out there that can get me so excited as this.
i might be a little biased because im just subsiding from the x-citement about 3 hours ago but still.. wowowowow!
(or maybe it's because i watched all those crappy animes first before this)

Nay! Never did, never will.
I have only 24 hours a day. Don't think I'll be willing to spend time on this one.

nooooo you're so missing out...
this one gets so good.. although i must admit it is quite random (maybe not to your taste if you like strong strong characters) and to buy it would be pretty expensive.

that group is a good group because they were way better than the HK-rips that were out, but if you know japanese well enough to not require good translations, then keep going! towards the end... with the inclusion of nico robin in their group, the story really gets hard core.
(and there are a lot of good fansubbing groups towards these newer episodes with HDTV quality videos, totally awesome)
they get really close to the marine base, (i dont think this counts as a spoiler) and luffy gets in real intense fights with good character build on the other crew members

I'm watching it! I hope it comes on DVD soon, cus I really want to continue this series where i left off (ep 50ish, on the english ver, prolly 120 on jap ver). It's a great anime, the version I watched was dubbed, but not edited, and was released exclusively in the country I'm in (on VCD). It's a great anime, maybe my fave yet, along with escaflowne. I gotta see it to the end ! wohohooo !!

HKs dubs are way painful, but after you pass 206 Gerusama and Hell take over and the quality is HD and very nicely dun.
You must know enough Japanese by now to be able to get through and even enjoy 156 - 206, though...
Oh, and to answer the original question, 437 fans are watching this right now...

lol
I'm up to 246... and yeah, I do like it, even though every arc has had some extremely painful moments, as in, way way way too slow plot progression.
Lots and lots of painful moments, actually.
Great anime, nonetheless.
And I wasn't offended

I'm up to eps 165 of K-F subs. I'm going to stick with K-F and not jump ahead by reading manga or watching HK and raws.

If you understand a modicum of Japanese, the HK subs are worth watching.
Not just because once you surpass them and get to ep. 206 you will feel this great wash of relief as you enter an era of well-done, high-quality subs, but
you will also have the extremely amusing experience of meeting Roofy, Sunkist, Solon, and Joeb. There are so many hilarious mistakes, if you can understand %53.8 of what is being said you'll be an extra %72.9 amused for all the extra laughs that HKs mistranslations add to the episodes.
Plus, due to straining your Japanese translation ability to the limit, you'll come out with ten times the vocabulary that you enter the HK series with.
Of course... you will probably miss out on a few things here and there. And everywhere.
Although, in the end, it's whatever best helps you enjoy. If you have the willpower, maybe K-F is indeed the best way to go (even though they're so sadly slow....)

Currently my favorite! Are you kidding me? Is it because the series has not been completed that One Piece has got so few reviews and ratings and rankings? Otherwise, I'm disappointed not to see One Piece listed as #1 in Top 200 Anime.
For those who have not seen One Piece or stop watching because it's too long, I really feel sorry for you. Give it a shot people!
Seriously, I personally don't think that the number of One Piece fans is more other series. There is an anime club in our school and none of the club members have followed One Piece. So disappointed!!!
I just know of this series last year when I was watching Naruto, which by the way, total disapointment for not keeping the original story of the manga. And I thought to myself, 200+ episodes... no thank you. But after the first 50 episodes, I got so excited and anxious to get to watch more. I'm currently at 255 and desperately waiting for new episodes.
I think it gets better and better. Think about it: from Luffy, Zorro, Ussop, Sanji, Nami, Chopper to Arabasta, Sky Island, and now Water 7. I'm in love with all these adventures especially the last 3 mentioned above.
Last word, I think One Piece is under rated. It deserves 10/10 with thousands of reviews.

I'm currently watching this and to be honest I can sympathise with a lot of people out there that are very reluctant to check this out, it took me about 3 years to actually say yes to it.
One Piece is one of those animes that's really time consuming, like all long running animes. Unfortunately, through watching it, it's one of those animes that improves the more you watch it. Therefore, most might abandon ship before it actually gets started. The simple animation style may not suit all either.
The anime has it's brilliant moments of storytelling, by far the best was the doctor arc, I don't think an anime has actually made to cry all out loud before, only silent tears. I have to say that I am only now watching it because I'm at about episode 220 and it'd be mad not to follow it. Another interesting arc is coming up but this one will take aaaaaaaaages to resolve.
And just to Luffy's post above, I thought Naruto was better, the characters ties were woven much more closely.
And just a question, anyone read the manga? Cause I don't and it'd be nice to see where that is right now, I mean how much longer will the anime go on for?

One Piece was never really my thing. Don't get me wrong, it's a fresh new idea, a new art style. But after watching the first couple of arcs, i felt it was moving way too slow for my taste. So i just stopped watching it. I have nothing bad to say about it, i just though it was slow.
As for the manga, my cousin reads it, he says they are on chapter 400 and something. So it might take awhile for the anime to catch up.

At what episode did you stop watching Veleon, just out of curiosity?

Yeah, I ended up having to drop One Piece after some time because I wanted to see other series in between and also because of life in general, but I managed to get through a good bit of the series (it was around episode 70ish. I can't remember right off-I might pick it up again if I find the time). It's a long series, but it's engaging once it really gets into the story, I definitely liked it. You have to have some patience watching it, almost like when you're watching Detective Conan (which is also a long, long series).

What?! How can you stop there? lol, man, that was one of the more exciting arcs, apart from those rubbish filler episodes in the desert.
There is this big problem (or it's a problem to me), where anime version of things for long running series just totally bloats things up. I hate how a lot of animes now, even a few of the 26 episodes ones filled with copious amounts of flashbacks, I hate watching flashbacks, you don't really get flashbacks of frames in manga.
Will any production be brave enough to just tell the story from a long running manga in a compact way and not worry too much about making money? It'll be great to see.
