I would personally like to see stories of other people in the Chobits world. For example the story of Ueda Hiroyasu and his 'wife' would be interesting.

I heard that there are 43 episodes. Yes it is true that 27 is the last one, but I heard someone said that the rest are licence. So you just gotta buy it on DVD in japan.
Anyone want to confirm this??

It's crap. You don't need to dig too hard to figure out that this information isn't true. Chobits is not that popular of a series but if a sequel is announced, all the information will be found right here . There is no sequel but there is a character in Tsubasa Chronicle that resembles Chii so I think that's the closest to a sequel that one can get for now . I haven't seen the ending to Chobits yet, but a sequel would be nice to develop the main characters a little better, unless something happens in the end that I won't be too happy about .

Would be cool if there was a season 2 for chobits though I don't know what kind of storyline could contiune. Maybe someone kidnap chii. LOL.

She was pretty annoying, but I liked how she was later contrasted with Kotoko. Kotoko I kind of liked in fact.

I hated the ending of Chobits, but I don't want a sequel. Right now Chobit stands as 95% perfect anime in my eyes (the missing 5% being the crappy ending). If a sequel will come out... well, many people will probably get disappointed.

I hope there will be a second season, the last few episodes of Chobits went to fast, like they wanted to end it. Still I would love to know how it is going between Chi and Hideki:D But yes the manga also ended, so I vote for a second season and more manga.

I'd like to see a new season but I think they ended up the episodes that way because they don't have anything else to say... because what will they are gonna do?. A plan to make Chii a human or something like that? :]

@Xhilaraxion: Please note that the post above yours was nearly a year old.The ones above that are pretty widely spacved in time as well, making this discussion something of a dead issue. You can be fairly sure that CLAMP is done with this series and moved on to other things, given the age of the series.
Also, as mentioned, there's not much more to tell, story wise. As is, I think that they avoided a lot of the points that could have made this series quite deep and worthwhile in terms of story merit. There's little or nothing to add, though a remake without avoiding those issues would be a good thing, it would also face a lot of the controversy that remaking an anime would bring about. I don't see that happening for Chobits .

It would be interesting to see how the second one would turn out though. With the knowledge we now have from the first season, they would have to create a whole different irony for us to enjoy, then again, it's not likely seeing the end was kinda revealing.

This is stupid. Stop dreaming of sequels from series which are 8 years old!!! If something needs a sequel, it comes out within 2-3 years of its release.

There was a thread, but I dont know where now, not so long ago in which a guy posted pictures of a real life persocom. With an explanation of how it would work. I dont think its very real or serious, but it was interesting.
I'd point you to where it is, but I really cant remember, try searching for it.

You know it would be possible to actually make a persacom, Basicly you need to teach it to move it's functions, but it would have to be a very powerful system, to move around and interact with objects properly, to undertstand the enviroment around it. Then you have to think about how to give it commands and what they mean.
A sensory system for the eyes, to detect objects, sensory system for the skin, so the robot knows if its touching something, temperature control, being able to tell if it's cold or warm inside or touching something. Some kind of damage avoidence system, to detect something that may be harmful and of course to avoid mishaps, make it unable to hurt humans.
There are many factors about a real persacom and how one could be made, hell id do it myself if i had the funding, sadly though in real life technology only really develops when warfare is in mind, and of course, that would probably involve a soldier type robot used for violence, how sad.

Freaky stuff. Now they need to combine that with the things they're doing with ASIMO:

Nice find, Top gear is decent, and Asimo is very unique, im amazed that they are that far in robotics these days. Although i have seen a number of articles over at gizimodo about new robotic inventions, mostly arms or legs.

Wasn't Top Gear. James May did a series called James May's Big Ideas and dedicated each episode to a different topic. The one that clip was taken from was all about robots. There was also a segment where a Japanese guy (Hiroshi Ishiguro) had built a robot that looked exactly like him and was using that to record how people responded to humanoid machines.
Here'a a clip
