If the job does not require any indepth familiarity with manga, I can help. I don't read enough manga so I don't know much apart from the few titles I have collected. But simple stuff like editing and whatever can be done.

Not sure if it's the same thing as what is needed, but the reason why I finally registered with animenfo.com is to see if I could assist in writing some of the missing descriptions and entries from the manga database.

I've been using the site for over a year now, and can submit a sample if needed of both a "description" and an "editorial" of a series (editorials include discussion of art and writing styles, but can be considered semi-spoilers and unsuited for the description area). I have a moderate fan-subbed manga collection and have been reading manga for a decade now in a variety of subjects including shoujo and shounen. My personal leanings are more towards sweet shojo drama (Aishiteruze Baby), comedy based shounen (Ichigo 100%), and school life drama comedies (Great Teacher Onizuka). Ecchi doesn't bother me, nor does dramatic hentai (Deep Love), and I could do pure hentai if necessary but would prefer not to (pure hentai tends to have little to no story elements in it beyond a sketchy framework for the actions that hentai is famour for).

dnangel

umm..this story is one one the best that i have ever seen..it is very emotional..it is full of love-romance..but it also has magic, adventure, mystry, and a few scary parts thrown in there as well too..so it pretty much has somthing in there for everyone...it is full of suspence which will keep you on edge..i do recomend D.N.ANGEL to everyone..

I hope you realize that you're spamming here. This is hardly the right thread to be making a post like that. If you want to discuss about D.N.angel, please use the correct anime discussion thread.

Read the rules and forum FAQs. The links are under my signature.

Thanks.

I second that assertion because djein has perhaps read (and is knowledgable about) more manga than anyone I've met ~_^ So'd he'd certainly be a good candidate.

Supers if you haven't picked anyone yet....pick djein.
He has read more manga than all the registered animenfo users...
He really knows the subject.

--omfg-- this will so teach me to post without Previewing...

[[Really Sorry about the doublepost! Completely forgot for a moment which forum I was at-- the one I'd just come from had an Edit Post function which everyone relied quite heavily on; especially for Marketplace posts-- uhm. </digress>-- So uhm, reposting in a more readable size? Gomen yo T_T";;; ]]

*raises hand...?*

I'm game to help out with editing (typo's, grammar/punctuation and general readability) as well as missing/incomplete bits of info on characters/Chapter Names/Numbers & other what-its that tend to be left out/left for later... and maybe helping to untangle things like why there are so many entries for the Clamp Series MKRayearth...?

(Am also quite game to help out with the above for the anime section if needed/preferred; seiyuu info especially coughs =X )

Oh, and one-shot manga like Stigma, Brother by the Minekura Kazuya who did Gensoumaden Saiyuki & Saiyuki Reload-- I'd be more'n happy to help stock the database with these smaller manga ^^";

Plus will be happy to help link-fixing and uhm helping out with tagging if a Search In category for Mangaka is ever considered for implementation? (Rather Tough, i figure, especially since alot of manga are collaborations between an artist and an author; but one can hope maybe? =X )

[[Noted that many mangaka -are-, in fact, listed as Crew in the Anime side, but are not linked on the Manga side (e.g Rurouni Kenshin's Watsuki Nobuhiro; Saiyuki's Minekura Kazuya, so on and so forth) -- would enjoy (*is bricked, maybe*) handling such hyperlinking and stuff. So uhh yeah, would like to help with the tagging to link anime to the manga that they're based on perhaps? ]]

p/s: Please forgive any incoherence and typoism-- it's 5.30 a.m; have work in 3 hours and am running on zero sleep atm... so uhm hai, please be merciful (especially about the rambly length of this post which then required a font downsize)? =D";;;

I am game for review moderation for mangas as well as addition to the manga database. I sent pm to supers but he hasn't replied yet, so I ask the same questions that I asked him.

1.) Does one have to satisfy some criteria to apply for the post. Like readng 25 mangas or reviewing atleast 10 titles etc?

2.) How often does one have to be online for review moderation? I ask this because I'm going back to my hometown (which is in ruaral India) and will be unable to come online quite often (it would be once in two days or so at max) for a month or so.

3.) Is the review criteria for Manga titles the same as anime titles? If it differs, then in what aspects?

Please reply soon.

1) I think (not sure though) that supers would prefer someone who can write well, because you will be writing a synopsis for our database. Thus, if you always write posts which are IRC language or incoherent, although you are a manga expert, I doubt if it will do our database any good. Judging from your English, I don't think you'll have any problems about this.

2) You can have some time off. But what are your plans after you return to the States ? Will you be able to manage your time around here ? Ask yourself. If the answer is yes, then I don't see that taking some time off for a holiday would be a big problem.

3) I am not sure whether supers is looking for someone to delete those non-constructive manga reviews. I think he's looking for someone who will edit the synopsis of the database. The review criteria for manga has yet to be written, and I remember one review moderator once asked the admins whether we the review moderators can have the power to delete manga reviews as well. Right now there are only a few people in AnimeNfo who can delete manga reviews.

I'm all for re-writing the synopsis for manga titles. While my english is good overall, my punctuation kinda sucks, so that would need a ittle editing. I hope cranstion can help out in this area because his punctuation is impeccable. I remember him helping out for a re-edit for a anime-database entries.

As for me coming online often here's the deal: I don't live in the States. I'm in India and my job starts in the end of this month. It would be a three month course which would be like 15 hour training EVERYDAY. So apart from the weekends, I wont have much time to come online. After the training, lifestyle would return to normal. So after this work can be resumed.

Are there any criteria? Do let me know...

Okay, after comminting a faux-paus at the thread below this, I ask the question once again -

Is the revival of the manga-database still on? Because I am interested; and till now, I have not recieved any response from either the admins or the mods. Please respond.

Once again - sorry for the mix-up about posting in the other thread.

sorry about the delayed response Avalnanche. As far as i know the Manga database is still on, however, it's still a big time work in progess.. especially since the people directly involved with rebuilding it also have to concentrate on their Real life.

We'll get back to you as soon as we know anything else. sorry for the vague answer, but that's all we can really tell you at the present moment. Sad

Hi, despite the fact I had just joined, I am an admin of another anime based forum. I love to help other fellow anime/manga lovers find their dream selection.
So, if you will comply, I would love to help you out.

I know you guys have a lot to do and that this is taking a while to figure out, so you don't have to answer this post.

I just want to let you know that I'm ready to help you, if you are in need of someone to moderate or whatever the job is about. Razz

Pm, talk to me on msn or send me a mail if you want to contact me. Smile

Same here! I too am willing to help in cleaning up the database as well as add information to already existing series. But as stick said around 4-5 months back - it seems that there is a lot of work yet to be done. So until then all we can do is wait (I guess)....

Hope you guys (stick, supers, cadd etc.) update us soon if there is anything we can do to help. Smile

I wish that there was news to be had for everyone, but there isn't at this point.. I'm not sure of any specifics, but I know it'll be awhile..

I'm not locking this thread, but I'd say that it's probably safe to stop posting in it until you hear from any of us otherwise..

I apologize for the delays.. Believe me.. I want the site to be updated just as much as the rest of you do.. If not more..
