In a way, but seriously, Ranma 1/2 is "rotten cheese" to me, no offense.

Maby u can found it in gift shops, on net. Or to go on heart transplant surgery or [spoiler:8412eca61f]ask God for one[/spoiler:8412eca61f]. Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil
If that dosen't work maby some girl would give to u hers???
U never know.

Hidoi, I have a heart you know, its just that its made of stone, I think so because I rarely cry when watching animes, and I never cried while watching KgNE, it was just too cheesy for my taste.

@megumi24: Stone heart? Why? I think that you have nice-fulloving-heart. Only you don't want to cry, you kept it in yourself, like every strongh woman.

What? you didn't know that Ranma 1/2 is a comedy? its a harem with a comedy. But its not just a simple harem, all of the girls who are chasing ranma has their reasons not like others harems. Have you ever watched just one episode? oh I forgot, it has 161 episodes, you must at least watch half of it before you judge it. Wink Very Happy

My brother said that Robotech is a very good anime, its one of his favorite.

Now that I'm older, I can't stand the crappy voice acting. However, it is pretty good visually. Also, kudos to Harmony Gold for glueing 3 different and unrelated animes into one believable series.

~cranston (who readily admits that he would still play Robotech RPs these days)

Maybe he didnt think it was a "comedy" because its not "funny" for him?

Note: why are we talking about comedy in this thread? /swt cle Ken will torch us you know.

Our posts are getting off topic.

its hard to think what are the animes in which I cried. Oh I remember, it was in Twin Spica, when [spoiler:61256aff66]Azumi's friend died[/spoiler:61256aff66], it was just a few months after my dad died so I cried when I watched that. Crying or Very sad

I almost cried when I was watching Twin Spica, but I didn't. But yeah, Twin Spica is a very heartwarming series. If you liked it, megumi, you should watch Whisper of The Heart and Someday's Dreamers. All three anime are very inspirational stories. But Whisper of The Heart is the best among the three IMHO.

When I first finished watching NGE (I was like 18yo, and it was some years ago), I stood there staring at the blank screen for like 40 minutes, then started crying, unable to do anything else. That show really screwed up my life, at the time.

Thanks for the recommendation. I like Twin Spica but I hate the ending, I feel so sorry for Azumi. I'll also try "whisper of the heart", I want to have a break from all of the comedy sometimes.

@Kaneda1080@
What part in NGE made you cry and screwed your life? what happened? Pls give me some spoilers.

All of it, and the 'regular' ending specially. NGE carries more meanings than one would guess. There's a lot of backbone material (philosophy, religion, life, death, love, family, eschatology, and more...) behind the anime, more than behind any other I've seen.

I try too hard to follow the flow when watching sad anime, it just feels forced and I end up dissapointed instead of sad all the time @_@
No anime has taken my tears yet, though it's been close a few times. The first one I can think about would be Kanon. I didn't really think it was that much of a good show but I admit I had something going for Ayu (who didn't?)
Quote:
The part when she dissapeared in the woods was very emotional for me, but not enough XD. Maybe the remake will make things a bit different. ^_^

I felt exactly the same, though it never brought me to tears. The ending had me completely paralyzed, I was just siitting in a dark room for half-an-hour unable to do anything.

As for Saikano... I had no expectations at all, and yet I wasn't even moved the slightest. The whole thing seemed too forced and just downright messy. The only part that had any effect on me was the ending, but the rest felt llike a joke O_O.
Quote:
ZOMG we're running away, hunted by the military, hiding in the woods and you just told me nobody will ever want you. Hmmm yeah I'll just RIP YOUR CLOTHES OFF! T_T;;

All in all I wish I could be more emotional, otherwise I'm afraid I'm never gonna give another 10/10 review.

Oh boy. So much anger, so much hatred (I'm not white, BTW). What's wrong with you?

Yeah, but eventhough it was sad, it's sad is quite different of normal sad.
Kanna life is really sad,she got curses that I think as one of most scary curses I ever saw in Anime/Game/Book.

Was all the AIR game Ending is sad too or there are happy too?

I'm quite an insensitive person (or so I thought...?). I've never cried in my life during any movie, I cannot even recall any moments where it was close.
But... damn, anime/manga is breaking down my walls since I got interested half a year ago. Perhaps that's for the better, dunno Smile

Anyway, Kimi Ga Nosumo Eien made me cry.

spoiler:
Quote:
The "final farewell" between Haruka and our hero.. oh it's so wrong, so wrong...

And I've just had a "little" crying session over the ending of Ichigo 100% (The Manga, definitely not the anime).
Not sure why, in essence it ended as I wanted it to but I thought it was very sad nevertheless, if you've read it you probably know what I mean.

It's still a little embarrassing to admit this... noone knows about it =)

Anime most of the time makes me sad, but the one's that make me cry are the really good one's. Clannad and especially Clannad After Story made me cry like a baby. Crying or Very sad That was what made it soooo good. It moved me to tears at sooooooo many parts. Grave of the Fireflies too. That made me cry just knowing that it was based off a true story. Sort of. It was based on I think the author's experience in the war. Full moon wo sagashite made me cry because I wasn't expecting the ending AT ALL. Chrono Crusade is another surprised ending. THAT WAS SAD Crying or Very sad . That was the first real anime that I cried after.

Why not? Brings to mind all the good stuff from ages ago that I've not seen since. Though I didn't cry with Chrono Crusade. I was left in a funk and drained though.

Full Moon had a happy ending. Tears of joy?

Yeah, brings back memories of the good old days. Stuff then made me cry. KGNE. Even AYA. These days it's all just comedy and moe. Nothing wrong there, but it seems everyone wants to make a happy series.

Or series that are dark and disturbing. Death Note and Jigoku Shoujo are good examples. Baccano and Ga-Rei Zero probably count as well.

I don't cry over that stuff. It's the sad ones that make me cry. Or ones that remind me of certain things.

Worst offender is probably Bokurano. Yeah, for some reason, these days, if it's dark, there doesn't seem to be any light at the end of the tunnel.

I don't know. I never felt sorry for any of them kids. Just so hard to feel any connection with them.

I think that was part of the point, really. I'm no big fan of Bokurano, especially with the way it handled its ending and the horrid CG, but it was never supposed to evoke throves of sympathy in my opinion.

But yes, there are far fewer truly and nicely dark shows around these days. This year was rather meagre in that regard. Umineko, surely. Phantom. Perhaps Casshern. What then?

We will depart the year 2009 remembering K-ON! as the most popular show. I didn't hate K-ON! and I don't hate KyoAni for milking the moeshows (watch Haruhi S2, they adjusted their character designs to look more like K-ON!) but surely there have to be better shows. Even Darker than Black is showing signs of softening up.

Spreading pessimism may be a bit premature, what with the lineup for winter, but it sure as hell is a noticeable development.

edit:
Oh, yeah. About half of Blue Literature is dark, but some other parts bore me out of my mind and the Ningen Shikakku arc is simply too nonsensical in its darkness.

The cast was too big and they didn't spend enough time on each one for us to make a connection. Like the pregnant girl who was raped by the teacher, and was almost raped by another of the pilots? We're probably supposed to feel sorry for her, but the execution was just too poor.

Gunslinger Girl was done in a better manner.

Tell me about it. Only 13 episodes or so, yet I felt for each and every one of the girls. Especially Triela. Their stories touched me on a more personal level. Right there in ep 1 when Henrietta got hurt in the operation I was like "OUCH!".

More so for the back stories. They never mentioned Triela in the anime, but the manga...

Yeah, Gunslinger Girl has so much additional material that could have been nicely adapted, but they somehow saw it fit to just flush the series down the drainpipe.

Eh? Are we talking about the same girl? The tall one with long hair? I remember there was at least one episode dedicated to her alone. The one in which she shielded her face with her left forearm and got shot twice I think.
