Aphrodite and Eathmask good or bad?

Hi there Kerropi, how are you doing! Well I am very pleased to meet another Saint Seiya's fan, welcome to Saint Seiya's forums... Well the same question is ringing in my head, because as I know that Death Mask was always evil, if you see his temple in the Sanctuary's chapter you will see that he has the heads of his victims even a kid too (If I remember well) so he likes to kill people, which gived me the idea that Death Mask is really an evil character, but once again, if Death Mask was evil then how in the hell he got his Gold Cloth!! I know that the Gold Cloth shattered into pieces while fighting Shiryu, but if he was really evil then why he gained this cloth in the first place...

Well In Hades they give us the idea that Death Mask is really not an evil guy, true maybe he likes Violence but still he is loyal to Athena so that's why he played along, maybe he was evil in the first chapter coz of the Pope's couraged him to kill Athena's and the bronze boys or something like this, I really can't give you a 100% answer! Hope to see the other people opinion... See ya

Hi Kerropi, welcome to the forum ...

Deathmask and Aphrodite personality looks confusing, like Dark Lord Dragon said ... how can an evil character deserve a gold cloth ? ... Maybe, it's right that both of them only like violence but very loyal to Athena.

I can understand if Pisces Aphrodite is said to be not evil, but maybe little cunning (We can see that he stabbed Cepheus Albior from the back when Scorpio Milo attacked Andromeda Island). As for Deathmask, the many of dead people faces carved in the Cancer Temple is a question whether he's an evil character or not. But nobody kill (many) people and put their face on his/her holy place except an evil cold-blooded personality or psycho. Deathmask's personality is so confusing.

But maybe I can add that when they went for the Gold Cloths for the first time, (maybe) they were still good and very talented persons ... After many years of being respected of becoming a Gold Saint and only few people can equal to both of them, they become arrogant and evil little by little.

For Deathmask ... The evil culminated when Deathmask fought Dragon Shiryu in the Cancer Temple, even the cloth itself felt angry and left him finally for his unforgiveable and endless evilness. So that, it proved that the Gold Cloth only for the good people. Why was it so long in Deathmask's body all the time ? Maybe ... Just maybe, the Deathmask's cosmo is so strong that the cloth could not refuse his will until Shiryu weaken him so that his power was not strong enough to hold the cloth's rebellion in his body.

For Aphrodite ... Not evil, just cunning and too egoistic ... But he's loyal to Athena ...

But why in Hades Chapter, there were some embarassing moment about both of them while fighting with Rhadamanthys ... I just can say the evil/cunning personality of both hasn't been disapperared completely (eventhough, they joined the other Black Gold Saints led by Shion to Sanctuary with a certain purpose unknown by Hades). As we know, the more evil and cunning someone behaves in his/her life, the more coward and careless and weaker someone has become. As for Deathmask and Aphrodite, his power are the weakest among other "good-personality" Gold Saints ... Never reach the peak those should be.

I hope the Hell Chapter OVA will give Deathmask and Aphrodite a more second chance to reform themselves of becoming true Gold Saints (Don't forget that Hades Chapter - Sanctuary was modified in quite different changes from the manga - So we still can hope) ...

Well, that's my opinion ...
