that thread will have all the information you'll need with the link in the opening post.
What I am wondering is should we leave this thread open for general discussion about Clannad? Any mods with an answer?

General discussion is good. The topic is vague enough for it.
So, general discussion...
What's up with Fuko's random appearances? I can imagine the blank look on my face everytime she appears (most recently in ep 17). You suppose that's what they're trying to do? Seems unnecessarily aggravating to me though.
Another thing, if I'm not mistaken, there are only 7 eps left. 7 for Nagisa, Tomoyo and Kyou. Can they really finish this properly? It would suck if there are only 2 eps each.

Well it seems to me that they seem to develop the relationship between Nagisa and Tomoya through out the whole thing. She had like an episode or two to herself in the begining. She'll get at least one at the end were she and Tomoya get together. She doesn't need much more than that. She has been in every episode along with Tomoya.
We also currently seem to be in Tomoyo's arc. Little things here and there seem to suggest it. Since she was there in the begining it is hard to make a notible transition to her's and Kyou's arc from the previous one. Kotomi and Fuko had their characters introduced in an episode past the fist one. Tomoyo and Kyou have had their characters drawn out during those arc. It should be obvious what Kyou has been trying to do the whole series. The scene were the "charm" works shows how she really feels. And if I am correct we aren't even in her arc yet. Basically Kyou and Tomoyo will have been drawn out enough that their arcs don't need to be so long. Well, Kyou has definetly been drawn out some since the begining. So, anyway, I think it will end beautifully. I have faith that Kyoto Animation will put out another benchmark series for all others to strive for.
As for the Fuko thing...well, it seems to be only for the lols. I laugh when she appears because it is totally random. In fact this whole series makes me laugh. I don't think I have ever laughed this hard since fumoffu.
Can we add in a spoiler tag to the title. I don't feel like vaugly describing things. Or looking over my post for spoilers.

Added spoiler tag. I'm glad someone started a general discussion of CLANNAD. And yeah, general discussion for this seems fine to me, unless ruled otherwise.
Yeah, this is definitely one of my favorite titles from the previous season, I really love the humor here-it comes from so many angles. I also think Fuko's appearences are more for humor and not so much trying to tie too much into the story. Fuko actually does bring some needed comic relief even though she pops in and pops out of the scene rather randomly-it's enough to bring a smile to my face though I wouldn't say Fuko's my favorite character among the girls. She did the same in one of the former episodes (forgot which number off the top of my head) when she fished out the star from the prize machine.

I'm not that much of a fan Fuko she just pops in for no reason and is only entertaining when Okazaki makes jokes at her expense. Also the whole thing with the charm was one of the single funniest things I've seen in a long time because it was just so ridiculous especially when he had to undo it. The show has been a good laugh the whole way through just because of how Tomoya is to his situation. Also why is it Sunohara always has to be beaten he never really deserves it as bad the torment would make you think.

Thanks for the answer, im gonna edit first post so it just says general discussion about Clannad or something like that. Personally i found Fuko coming during that fight hilarious, i couldnt stop laughing. I think Fuko is just in the show to be funny, and add some drama at the begining. The charm thing was pretty funny too. I love it when he says there couldnt possibly be such a convenient charm. I think some mod should just a make a Clannad sub forum or something but this will do for now

I like Sunohara being the subject of abuse. He's the source of much amusement for me. The fall guy, slapstick, these are the must-haves of comedy and Clannad carries it off splendidly.
And the bastard's got such a wonderful sister! I was already thinking "I want a sister like that!" a couple seconds before Okazaki verbalised it.
The charm itself is funny, but the main thing here is that I couldn't really believe Kyou could act so cute. I mean, as soon as you hear that the charm gets you locked in the gym storage room with a girl, you just know it's going to happen. Law of anime dramatic coincidences But, like Okazaki, I didn't expect Kyou to freak out that much.
PS Tomoyo would've been a better choice.

I think Tomoyo would think he did it on purpose and beat him up

I think that in retrospect Tomoyo would've been the better choice. However, Okazaki didn't exspect Kyou to act the way she did. I didn't either. Yet, it was definetly one of the better moments in the whole series.

So, I watched episode 18 today. As always it has its moments of comedic gold. However this episode the character all realize their actual position. I never knew Kyou could cry like that. Very touching. Alas, Okazaki must get Nagisa, it is only right that he should. If he were to end up with anyone else (even Kyou) it would be an insult to my intellegence. However, who ever he ends up with will probably not change how much I love this series. KyotoAnimation will probably do a slendid job with whoever gets chosen. I have grown very attached to this series. So much so, that it might replace FMP! for my favorite anime. If it stays on this track it probably will replace it.
Well, it looks like this was the final episode of the Tomoyo arc. If I read iit correctly the last scene shows a paper saying Tomoyo is the student council president. So, this leads us to the final two arcs: Kyou's and Nagisa. I predict Nagisa will be last; so, I am predicting Kyou next. we have plenty of time for the remaining arcs so I am not too worried. Plus, it's KyotoAnimation. Anyway the Kyou arc will probably be the most diverging of all of them.
By this time she knows that Okazaki probably likes Nagisa. She also knows that she herself likes Okazaki. My guess is Kyou will no longer be helping Ryou win his affection. Kyou will do her thing. I sense some strong emotions going to be coming from her arc. Probably some very touching scenes and lines. It will probably end will Kyou actually confessing her love to Okazaki.
Now, my other guess would be Kyou and Nagisa's arc get intertwined. In which Okazaki will take the typical role of "OMG!!! I think I am falling in love with two different girls!!! HOW DO I DECIDE!!!" Its cliche but I happen to like it. Plus, (need I say it more) its KyotoAnimation. They make good anime.

Personally, I think Tomoyo's arc was somewhat flat. Instead of taking the time to flesh out the details and create drama, everything was dealt with in two focused episodes. Furthermore, I felt that ep 18 dealt with Kyou in too summary a fashion. Really mean. I expect one ep with Kyou revealing her feelings, why and for how long and that would be it.

To me, i've felt that they did a good job at it. You knew how they felt for quite a while now, and everything just slowly built up to the point that it did. And they showed the emotions of them finding out, and her sister finding out. So far everything has been done perfectly, and i just hope it continues on doing so.

just finished watching ep 20. And all i really have to say is wow. The last minute of the ep, is seriously one of the best scenes ive seen in an anime. It makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside just watching, and her parents expressions, as she starts running. Seriously this is one of the best game to anime transitions that i have seen.

I completely agree. However I do have one problem with the show so far. Where is my Kyou arc? I would be sorely dissappointed if the last arc was a half-assed combination arc of Tomoyo and Kyou.

Alright today the official site of clannad http://www.tbs.co.jp/clannad/06special/special.html released a short preview of the special ep that is to air in a few weeks that is set in an alternate universe where Tomoya and Tomoyo are dating. Now does anyone else find this somewhat interesting? If you know of the visual game you know it wasnt a hentai game. But the fans wanted one so the creators made Tomoyo After: It's a Wonderful Life. And this special ep...... sorta makes me wonder.......

You and me both. Best scene in the series was when they were locked in the gym shed.

The appeal of a tsundere In any anime with a tsundere, it's just unfulfilling not to have her go deredere.
Hmm... Were there any other times she went deredere? It's kinda disappointing that I can't think of any.
I also loved that scene with Okazaki saying "Kobayashi Kyou wa BI nan desu!" or something like that.

I HATE EPISODE 18.
I HATE NAGISA.
POOR KYOU.
YES CAPS INTENDED.
I'm very frustrated right now. I just watched the episode with stupid antennae girl Nagisa comes back from the hospital. Aside from Fuko, there's no other character I dislike more in this series. I can't believe it ARghghhhHghgh
Poor kyou.
