Cowboy Bebop - Worth a re-watch? Recently, my interested piqued in re-watching Cowboy Bebop (that and Escaflowne). These are two animes that I haven't seen in a long-time. My memory tells me that Cowboy Bebop was actually not that interesting, as I don't remember anything of it. However, it was also one of the earliest animes I watched. What I remember is that there's a lot of hanging around with nothing to do and dry-boring times, and not a lot of background music. However, since it has such a legendary status, should I re-watch this?

Music is great. Animation quality is so-so. Story is good, but only if you watch the whole series. Some standalone episodes, but you'd need to commit to watching the whole series to make it work.
Part of the reason for it's legendary status was it was part of the new-wave that flooded the western world and made anime known to the rest of the world. Don't let this influence you judgement. Sometimes, hype is not good.

I did a rewatch of CB a year or two back. I mainly concentrated on the episodes I liked best, left the remaining - so I saw around 20 episodes in all or so. Left some like "Toys in the attic" out... Its was well worth it!

I love Cowboy Bebop to the hilt. Its one of my favorite shows and all; But I think most of the hype that comes with CB is mostly because everyone knows and loves the music. Would CBB be as popular without it? Who knows.
But I think it's worth a rewatch if you cant really remember it.

CB would have been only half as satisfying if it hadn't been for the music. Part of the appeal was that the music featured a lot of Jazz and Blues, stuff Americans are so familiar with.

You would get killed in the mental sense for saying that here, Ken. O_O Australian anime fans not only revere Cowboy Bebop, but they revere music done by Yokko Kano just as much. They also hold jazz in high esteem. GG to you ever visiting. j/k lol!
I'm surprised Veleon hasn't jumped in aghast and ready to defend CB with the raging passion of a young male adult like himself. (This is your cue....)

I agree Jazzy music and Blues makes me Lethargic .* Wish it was Hard Rock BGM more impact on action scenes.
The thing I did not like is their Animation Nowadays. The years pass it becomes low quality because of high quality animations popping up.
They should Restore the colors. Its good to watch it on Animax they have better quality on CBB but others sources did not improve CB they made it more bad quality.
But never the less the story is still worth the watch.
