I'm thinking of trying Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2. Could some folks here give me their opinions?

Brilliant rpg, although there isn't that much freedom with the story line in the first one there is a lot when it comes to character development. I've finished the first one 8 times with 8 diffrent styles of character, the story line is really good to espetial if you are into star wars. The battle system is a little basic but still very fun.
I haven't played the second

1 was probably one of the best rpgs ever made. 2 wasn't as good i hear. plus from what i understand the ending wasn't exactly... complete? not sure how that happened but yeah.

I couldn't really get into KOTOR. I found it boring. But at the time I was probably playing Goldun Sun, so I am not sure how I would react to it today.

Are there any JRPGs for the PS3 I should try other than Final Fantasy, Valkyria Chronicles, Star Ocean and Resonance of Fate?
I like JRPGs with good stories. It's important that the world is interesting. Also, the story has to flesh out the characters. I have to be able to know the characters, to care about them.
However, I don't like grinding ala Disgaea. Also, the graphics shouldn't be so bad that it could've been made for a PS (like Agarest).
BTW I'm of course getting Ar Tonelico when it's out.

@ Cran
You can try Tales of Graces F. The SD form of the characters during skits is extremely cute. You will love Cheria and quite possibly Sophie as well. Kanitama eraii! The story is not something to shout about though. If you've been following Naruto in it's earlier stages (when it was good), you'll find some parallels in terms of the overall plot.
I won't recommend Atelier Rorona as the story is rather dull (unless it suddenly gets interesting in the final year which I haven't reached yet) and the characters aren't all that lovable. Although it is worth noting that they use a rather weird ingredient to make homunculus:

Yea I'm waiting on the US release of AT3 as well. Come on!

Button masher. I'm not overly fond of button mashers.

I haven't opened my copy yet, but from what I understand, Demon's souls is the farthest you can get from a button masher, which is why it's considered to have a high difficulty. Actually, I think there's a stamina bar in the game which drains for every swing you do take.
