I think for the total year I've probably read over 100 books. There was a time when I was cooped up at my local library for a time, so I found myself perusing quick reads between my studies.

I'm actually starting Hunger Games right now. Last few books I've read have been on the suspense/paranormal side (Ted Dekker's "Kiss" and Richard Carman's "Thirteen Days to Midnight", the former's adult, the latter's YA).

I'm also trying to finish reading Brom's "The Child Thief" - I honestly didn't realize coming into the book how dark it was going to be - the language, violence in it is very graphic, but the art is lovely. Probably the most skewed version of Peter Pan I've ever read.

After reading "The God Delusion" I loved it so much I went on to read everything that Dawkins recomended, "Letter to a Christian Nation" "The End of Faith and "The moral Landscape" by Harris as well as "God is not great" by Hitchens. Currently I'm on "godless" I forget who by though but hope to be finished by the time the new Dawkins arrives the week.

Also I'm Reading Yakuza moon, love this book, I never thought so indepth about Yanki's before, I know it is suppose to be a book about overcoming struggles, but not being the touchy feely type I'm really reading it as a narrative on 1980's Japan and Yanki culture. I feel ashamed how I thought it would be fun to be a yanki like so many anime characters but outside of anime they really were fucked up kids, not finished it yet so I'm looking forward to the narrative on the Yakuza, although she has said although she has said she will say it as it was and from her first encounter with the yakuza I don't think it will leave me at all happy.

Also re-reading Romeo & Juliet a few times, not for Romeo and Juliet themselves I hate them but the Rosaline bits, recently fallen in love so it finally makes sense to me Razz "Forget to think of her" "Teach me how I should forget to think"

Also on Sharpes Enemy but I really haven't have the time and this is the book that is the most easy to pick up over time so it's taking a while Very Happy

Wow! Not updated this at all this year.

Here and here are my challenge threads for this year. Not too far off reaching my target now. From the 64 books I've read to date my favourites were The Count of Monte Cristo and Perdido Street Station.

As of this past month, I've been reading George R.R. Martin's series, "A Song of Ice And Fire". Very well written, albeit a bit slow at some points, it more then makes up for it in others.

The characters, both primary, secondary, and even temporary have beautiful depth and real thought put into them to make them really come alive. Every destination and location you can clearly picture in your mind, following along as you read the way you were meant to: like it was playing a movie in your head, you being the narrator.

I'd definitely recommend this series to anyone and everyone who enjoys fantasy novels/series. It includes dragons, magic, deceit and romance.

10/10

I'm hopefully going to re-read that series next year. Haven't read the latest one yet so it will be a good opportunity to catch up. Have you watched the TV show yet? Personally, I think they've done an extremely good job of condensing the novels and for the core story to remain intact.

Didn't post this year's challenge list so here it is. Just started a Part 2 also. So far I've read 45 so far with the target being 78 for the year so I'm doing ok.

I've watched the first season, although I haven't looked into the second, if there even was one yet. I found it very well done, and followed most of it to a good letter of detail. If there is a second one made/on the way, I'll be looking for it. Smile I hope it follows the first and sticks to it just as good, but we shall see. Some series have a way of losing touch or falling away from the main plot during the second/third seasons.
