i've only read the first 2 volumes of the manga... i need to bumb the rest off of my friend, but so far, it's looking to be pretty good... (ever since love hina, i don't seem to want to watch anime anymore and just read the manga... only when the manga come first which is most of the time).. but anyway, yes, so far the first 2 volumes were funny as hell... poor bastards that got tortured by onizuka.... they deserved it

Yes, they did deserve it. Probably the funniest thing about that manga is the facial expressions Onizuka makes when hes made and stuff its friggen hilearous. Espically when hes being a peeking tom its funny as hell man.

It's too bad the GTO anime doesn't go very far and ends rather abruptly. The manga is much more better. It covers more ground and the story extends much farther than the anime. Plus, I believe we find out what Urumi's secret is later in the manga .

Ohh yes that part in the manga is really fucking hilearous. Those bitches did deserve it though.

this is my first time on the message board, but anyway
I have already read up to volume 14(manga). But, so far the story hasn't mention about Urumi secret yet, but i think that the next volume( 15), it is going to be review. This may be a spoiler but.......read on if only you want to..........That blue hair girl, hmmm what is her name, something Mayabi, well she said something about I will reveal your secret if you are still on Onizuka side/ help him. Right now(volume 14) Onizuka is facing his worst problem, I can't wait to get volume 15.
And one more thing, did you guys understand the ending of GTO (anime),
Fuyutsuki said something about waiting for him, and the principle said that they will get him back....but when they show Onizuka for the last time, I think he was in the USA, teaching some other students.
I think I wrote abit too much, hope to have advice from the experience in the future.

The Secret They start to bring up her secret a few volumes before 14. They bring it up, and Onizuka is told in secret what it is. He doesnt understand what he was told, and references it to ?having too small of a buthole?. Who knows what is realy going on, so nothing is actualy brought out into the open.

I really liked the GTO anime, I'm thinking of buying the Manga. However the ending blew everything, I don't think I've seen a worse ending for a loooooooooong time!

When I saw that ending, I almost cried. Too bad theres not gonna have a season 2 or something. Give me some freakin closure!! Anyways, GTO is undoubtedly the greatest anime of all time. I'm waiting for volume 16 to come out and I'm gonna buy the all 16 off of www.alldrect.com for $6.19 a book. The shipping is extremely cheap. If you buy 15 books the shipping is only like 7 dollars total. If you buy 16 books which is $99.04, you get freeshipping for buying over $99. Yay!!!

Hmmm.. For the Kanzaki´s secret issue.. It´s been a while since I last watched the anime, and I´ve only read 10 volumes of the manga, but as far as I recall, the secret was revealed clearly in the anime as well.. It was mentioned previously by Wizard_of_Oz that it involves her dad, which supports this assumption.. No spoiling, but watch your eps heavily centering on Urumi again (I´ve lent my set to a friend, so I can´t atm). But then again, it´s really been a while, so I might as well be mistaken..

Warning!!! Spoilers ahead!!! I just watched the series but the ending was pretty confusing. Did Saito kill himself or did Aizava kill him? In the end they said he killed himself but how did the students find it out? There wasn't any mention of it earlier. And was Mizuki really pregnant or not?

Do all of the manga volumes take place after the anime? I've watched all the anime and it'd be a waste for me to buy the manga of something I've already watched. Are only some of the manga volumes after the anime? Please let me know, I'd really like a little more closure on the story.

Yeah the anime was based on the manga. So its only natural that they wouldnt be able to put all of the manga into the series, there is a lot of content in the manga thats not in the series. In my openion I think its better to read the manga then watch the anime.

I come to think about a thing about kanzaki.
when they were in okinawa, she shared room with 3 gundam freaks, and she didn't know anything they were talking about.
however, when I read about kanzakis voice actor, I founded that she is casting in a gundam series. that amused me a little. ^_^

hm.... BTW who thinks the manga's way better than the anime. Coz the anime's kinda veered too far from the manga and i think the new story that's in the anime is less funnier and kinda bad (especially the ending)

I was a little surprised to see how popular this series was. But I found it rather enjoyable, overall. Haven't read the manga though.

sorry of the topic
I already PM'd Evil GTO about this and for any of you Sydney people who don't now. There's a building in Townhall besides the QVB or Queen Victoria Building and in that building on the top level theres a shop called kinokuniya they sell all kind of English manga and jap manga (including GTO)

Ending just opinion considering that the story just ended in the anime series and neglecting the manga books... hmm.. I would like to share my opinion:
Warning Spoiler!!!
WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING
(Spoiler and hunches )
Ending conclusion(s):
I think that the teacher who tried committing suicide, gave himself a second chance. The students sympathized and trusted him again, and therefore he started teaching again--replacing Onizuka's class.
Onizuka was no longer needed since he united the whole class with the old homeroom teacher, and he gave confidence back all his students to trust teachers and also adults. Of course, he went all the way to America in order to escape his so called "criminal acts." But I think, part of it is a way of making an excuse of doing more great deeds to other students who need help and confidence in school, especially motivating them to trust teachers and solving their problems.
What a great teacher.. well except that he is perverted, violent and stupid sometimes but funny.
I think this is the most logical answer that I can conclude about the ending.

Acting was good I thought, and yes there were some really cute girls in it.. Parts of it really cracked me up.. I dont remember the ending .. hmm.. I saw the live action.. Then i saw the anime.. God the live action was so much better.. And I never thought I would be saying that..
Maybe it would be different if I had seen it in reverse. Anyway, I think if you are an Onizuka fan you will definitely like it. Atleast watch the first 3 or 5 eps.. I bet you will want to finish the rest.. Plus its got cute asian girls! LoL

I have just seen the drama too. Yes, I agree that the drama is awesome. However I don't like the drama series more than the anime series. The anime is much much funnier. I like the GTO anime more than GTO drama.
The drama's plot is similar to anime but they changed a lot of things. Um...hard to say it with spoilers...okay I will only say very major things.
Firstly, the negative points.
1. Fuyutsuki's exposure in the drama is way too much..and it brought rather a negative impression than positive. Because Fuyutsuki sensei is not a character with lots of interesting personality. In fact, her characterization in the anime is very little. So bringing her out too much can make the series become lame at times.
2. Many characters were left out. e.g. Anko, nurse, et.c. but most notable is Kanzaki, who was never mentioned in the drama, despite the fact that she is a very colorful character.
3. The drama messed up with the incidents each students encounter...e.g. The events happened to Murai and his gangs happened to Kikuchi instead, Miyabi overtook Anko's role in the beginning in the incident of Yoshikawa...
et.c. et.c. For people who have seen the animes, there might be at times where they will think "what the f$%^ is this messing up ?"
But now the positive...
1. Most, if not all, of the actor/actresses did a really good job for representing each characters. They found a really suitable guy to act as Onizuka.
2. THIS IS MY HIGHEST IMPRESSION OF THE DRAMA...The girl who acted as Tomoko in the drama did so damn well....In the anime/manga, I was not very touched with Tomoko's story...coz the animes did not really try to show the audiences what she is thinking inside. But in the drama, it showed it great detail what Tomoko is thinking. How she was at first always depressed and how hurt she was being constantly humiliated, how she was undermining her own existence, and her gradual development and realization of her own potential because of Onizuka, and her struggle to create her self confidence and self esteem. You will get to understand Tomoko..you'll see what she really feels inside, and you will end up rooting for her to succeed...I never like Tomoko that much in the anime or the manga, but in the drama, Tomoko was brought to real life, in fact, so real, that she'll become your favorite character in no time, even though she's not a main heroine. If there's an oscar for Jap. drama and I am the judge, the best supporting actress of the year would go to the girl who acted as Tomoko, and I am not sure even I have finished watching the series that I'd give the best actor award to the guy who did Onizuka.
3. The GTO Drama series has a very conclusive ending..and is the ending that everyone would want to see...Sorry, no spoilers here guys, see the drama...and you'll agree with me.
