I'm reading three at the moment.
Berserk
Samurai Deeper Kyo
Chronicles of the Cursed Sword
They are all going pretty well. I also might start reading the love hina manga since the anime was so good.

The one I'm reading most intently is Kare Kano (His and Her Circumstances). I've got the first 9 volumes as books, and they rock. I really want more volumes bad, except they're not translated yet.
I'm also reading Chrno Crusade, Full Metal Panic, Azumanga Daioh and Love Hina.

Currently reading "Fun Fun Factory" and I just finished the first volume of Kakinouchi Narumi's "The Wanderer".
"The Wanderer" took me a long time (4 days) because I didn't have a dictionary with me and there were a few words I didn't understand (like "ijimeru", they said it like 3098430985309 times in the manga and I was like "WHAT IS THAT WORD". Fortunately, I ended up stopping at a book store by coincidence and looked it up in a J <-> E dictionary. Unfortunately, they never mentioned the word again after I found out what it meant so I could not put it to use). The story line is pretty basic, but Kakinouchi's artwork is gorgeous as always and I adore the overall "mood" of the manga.
I also bet no one has heard of it.

Meh I tend not to read as mush manga as I do watch anime. Which is why I read a lot of free online American made manga. Right now I am reading Saturnalia , it is really good and I love the art. But there are some others. I am a huge fan of tme disorder both of the mangas are great, they look very professionol.

Re-read Love Hina and Saishuu Heiki Kanojo recently, both are still good. hm hm. *nods*
Currently waiting for Mahou Sensei Negima volume 7. Negima is so full of action -and fanservice- compared to Love Hina.

Not really manga, and I can't read a lot of Japanese so I only just flipped through it. It's the film-comic of Appleseed the movie. Stills taken from the movie with word ballons put in. I think it's published by Kodansha. That was 2 weeks back though. I don't usually have the time for manga.

really all you have to do is wait for the manga to come out so it isn't a problem for me to read other manga.

Just started rereading the Love Hina manga. I read a year ago. And when I saw an episode with a friend I became nostalgic and started to reread it.
Other than that is GTO and SDK.

This is not quite on-topic, but this is the closest existing thread I could find for this news:
It appears that the magnificent manga-series by Naoki Urasawa, Monster has been licensed by Viz. Here is a link to a discussion about it on the animeonvdvd-forum:
http://forums.animeondvd.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=mangaforum&Number=673534&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=all
Now, those of you who were awed by the greatness of the anime-version of Monster (still airing, search the database on this site for more info), go and fetch this manga-gem as well, for it is perhaps even better than the anime, IMHO.
And to sound even more like a mindless fanboy, I must tell you that Urasawa's other long-running manga-series, 20th Century Boys is even better than Monster, but is not yet licensed. I keep all my fingers crossed that Monster sells well and that inspires Viz to pick 20th Century Boys up as well.

I'm following the anime Monster. Do you say the manga is better because of the filler episodes or for something else?
The fact is that in my country Monster manga is licensed and it is already at volume 12.
20th Century Boys is licensed too and it is at volume 12 here. Is it a thriller like Monster?

Lucky you - the vast majority of the manga licensed in Finland is rather sub-par. If Monster or 20th Century Boys were suddenly released here, I would go mad from sheer happiness.
About the manga <-> anime comparison of Monster, I must first state that I find both of them excellent - the intriguing story, strong characters and the overall creepy mood are all brought over almost perfectly in both; and the anime is certainly one of the most faithful manga-to-anime adaptations to date, which I approve. So, the reason why I like the manga slightly better does not lie there. The few rare filler episodes do not bother me much either. In the end, I guess (as I really can't explain my preference in this case even to myself) I'd just want the anime to try to take more advantage of the merits of the medium, ie. use more tempo-changes, more striking sound-effects, etc. As it stands now, it is "only" a great adaptation of a great manga - not a great anime in itself.
Did that make any sense?
About 20th Century Boys, although it shares many similar elements with Monster (easily identified characters, constantly present dark mood, lots of unexpected surprises and cliffhangers that force you to read on, etc), it is not quite a similar thriller. It puts more emphasis on the conspiracy-aspect and perhaps a little less on the psychological aspects (although they are still certainly present). It also has, IMHO, a more complex story, a larger cast of characters - and it covers a longer period of time with several fast-forwards and rewinds. I truly can't recommend it enough and if you already like Monster (in either form), you are almost quaranteed to enjoy 20th Century Boys as well.

Thank you, your description was complete. Since the quality of the anime is basically the same as the manga I'll stick with anime (it has color, motion and voices).
As for 20th Century Boys next time I go to a manga shop I'll check it out.

I just finished reading vol.5 of pretty face..it's funny as hell !! can't wait to read vol. 6
I don't know what's so special about it. This gag has been done so many times, but then somewhat this series is really special ! Anyone know where can I find the profile of its author, Kano Yasuhiro ??
Now I'm at Book 6 of Kanata Kara. It's an old series (1991) and it's a shoujo. (Yes I'm reading shoujo, any problems ?) Wow it is so good....almost as good as Fushigi Yugi. (similar plot too) If you love Fushigi Yugi you must read Kanata Kara!!

I'm reading the manga of hunter x hunter right now. I'm in the 2nd volume. I want to read the Greed Island part but I don't want to skip the others before that though they are more or less similar to the anime.
I'm waiting for updates on Death Note (this is a great manga), Parfait Tic, and Yami no Matsuei.

Chrono Crusade volume 2 was a blast. Mind you, after that volume, it is clear the manga is more perverted than the anime.
hac/twilight 1 & 2 were a riot. Much more interesting than hack//SIGN.

I'm reading fanscans of Naruto. I've never read manga cause the anime has been easier to get in the past. That may change soon as I'm seeing manga alot of places now.
