Yu Watase hi.. i am new here, i always check animenfo for reviews on anime and manga but for some reason haven't discovered this forum until today (silly i know!) but there has been a question that has been driving me nuts. Isn't Yu watase famous in Japan shouldn't they animate more of her work. I personally love all her anime and manga, and am dying of curiosity to know if there are any future plans to animate more of her work.
I would really appreciate some feedback.
thanks

I like Fushigi Yugi very much too. But to be honest I think the works of Yu Watase are extremely overrated. Fushigi TV is great .. but if you read more of her works (Ayashi, Alice 19th, et.c.) you'll find that every series share so much similarities and apart from Fushigi, her other works, albeit they are usually very popular, are not as great as what people say they are.
So far there are 2 series of Watase which have been made into anime, Fushigi Yugi and Ayashi no Ceres. As for Fushigi, the first 52 Ep of TV series are exceptional but the all of its OVAs are shockingly bad. And Ayashi is my opinion is very average romance with exaggerated violence and suffering. However, both series are good enough to be made into anime.. and both are successful and lucrative productions. However, having read more of Watase's works, I still don't see any other works worth to be made into anime. Shishunki Miman Okotowari and Imadoki are probably the closest two, but still, it is questionable whether those two will become a profitable production due to its cliche school romance story which have been made into anime for more than thousand times..

hi..
i guess if you are talking about the plot what you said is true, but honestly how many anime out there with beautiful character drawings, a nice romantic plot with a touch of fantasy and a happy ending out there? i mean compared to the mecha anime there is hardly any. i guess i am just suffering from anime shortage.

i love that you can just tell by looking that is is her art.
there are only a couple other mangakas that are like that. or at least that i know of.
i think all of her stories are amazing, the readers are always drawn into them and are always sad when they have ended.
fushigi yuugi was my favorite, next to imadoki
