Animefirst.com I hope this is the right forum for this.
Has anyone here ever purchased anything from AnimeFirst.com? I am curious because I am wanting to purchase the Rurouni Kenshin complete series box set, but I'm afraid its not legit and that its just a bootleg.
or what about ThisIsAnime.com? They have the same item I want, but it costs more.
I just wanna make sure I am getting my moneys worth.
Thanks.

First of all, what makes you suspicious that it's a boot leg?
It seems like there are 6 episodes per DVD, which is kind of rare - at least, from my experience with Region 1 DVDs. Also, it doesn't seem to have region lock, which is suspicious.
Are there chinese subs? If so, be wary.

ways to tell if its a bootleg
1. reigon free
2. chinese dub
3. if it has an @email address on the bottom of the back to contact them
4. if ts made by some company you have never heard of.
yes the animefirst one is a bootlegg.
the other site thisisanime.com has both bootleggs and legit ones.
I shall post the legit ones

Hello, I purchased a dvd and used paypal the payment went through. The company that got my payment is American Accessories. The only thing is their tracking no. went to an error page every time , I have emailed the given sales@AnimeFirst.com for info about my order no answer . I tried to go to the website I placed the order with, it can't be found , I hope the weather has delayed my order and they are to busy to reply. but after reading the LoStsouls post will I get my order or am I ripped off?

Be prepared to say goodbye to your $$.
I feel sorry for you.
Just one of the reasons why I don't make purchases online.
