The booze thread. Years 18 and up only! Kids - don't try this at home!!! This is not the thread for inspiration. Feel free to ask questions thoughs.
Simple question for all folks who apply - whats your favorite alcoholic beverage?
My preference: Beer.
What I do not like: Whisky (does not agree with my stomach)

You need to be 21 to drink in the US in case you didn't know Avalanche.

No beer for me. Ever. It gives me rashes all over. And the gassiness of the drink makes me uncomfortable.
Whiskey for me. Most times with coke, sometimes with just plain soda water. Occassionally neat on the rocks. I do sometimes go for vodka with lime or orange but still prefer whiskey mixes.

I go for beer, Corona to be more specific, best beer in the world XD, and with a slice of lime, its equal to a slice of heaven
I like Whisky, on the rocks, to drink ocasioanlly, but I love, and I mean LOVE all Vodka mixes. Man have I gotten wasted with vodka...
I also enjoy a good glass of good wine now and then.
What I hate is Champagne, I can barely finish one glass if I have to toast with it.
Only thing I hate about drinking alcohol, after a certain point, it makes me go to the bathroom every 10 minutes, even 2 hours after I stopped drinking. Worst thing is, with each trip to the bathroom I feel like I sober up a little bit, so when I'm trying to get wasted, I have to drink more after I come out XD.

That would be wine. Red, dry, southern American (Chile, Argentina), southern European (Croatia), or southern African, thick and bloody in colour served in room temperature in the evening accompanied by music.
but if that's unattainable, a cold beer would do.

Chilean and Argentinean wines are the best, =P. Thought I rather Chilean, but thats because I have a personal problem with the argenteneans (its inhabitants, not their wine XD)

I've tried a few wines and the better ones are usually too expensive to drink on a regular basis. I have a modest portfolio of wine investments and no way I'm taking them out from storage for consumption. They stored in a secured storage facility because I've not paid taxes on them. I can't remember the details but I think the tax is like several dollars per centiliter or something so I end up having to pay quite a bit for every 750ml bottle I bring out. Not to mention, that destroys the continuity of the collection so it'll be worth less when it comes time to sell them for a profit.I'm building a "vertical" collection in that I have a small collection of each vintage but I try to get hold of every vintage since 2001.
I've not had wine since several years ago. The last one I tried was something from South Australia and it was OK. Not a favourite of mine, wine.

Been drinking Guinness all night but then had a few pints of Amstel its nice but a bit to fruity for my taste, Red Guinness not as good as the original, I found out after the barman gave me a free pint of it and I decided it was to easy, if that makes any sence....

It may not be from Singapore. We do have another manufacturing facility in Mongolia or something. So it could have been from that plant.
But yeah, Tiger is a Singaporean product.
Interesting fact. The Local Coca Cola factory is located next to the Tiger Beer brewery, which also manufactures another foreign brand of beer under license. Was it Carlsberg or something? Can't remember.

I don't know what they put in the San Miguel. Mostly malted barley I think? Wheat as well? Hmm... I guess you can make them with whatever grain your country happens to be growing, eh?

Probably a liquor-filled choc. I hate them. Tried Cadburry's Rum & Raisin and hated it. The combination of tastes was weird.

I've always wondered why people who booze often end up with such large tummys. I mean, beer is so low in calories. Then I realized it must be the chips and nuts and other snacks that they consume in huge amounts each time they sit down for a couple of beers with some friends.

Actually, I think its the other way around and beer contains a whole LOT of calories, thuse the so called beer-belly.
Actually, all alcoholic beverages are high on calories, except for champagne, which is why its the only alcoholic beverage that models drink, one glass though 'cause it still has some though

Thanks, but no. I prefer mine plain. Or with nuts.
When I have a drink or two, I don't usually snack. Maybe some chips, but usually with nothing.

I tried Carlsberg a few weeks back when I was visiting Malaysia. It was so light that it tasted like water. Same goes for heineken.
My normal beer goes towards Fosters or Budwieser (preferably this). But whenever I go to Banaglore (once a month or so), I make it a point to get myself a bottle or two of Chimay (it's a Belgian Trappist beer made in a monastery). Expensive, but man - its amazing.
@ken
Agreed. Tiger beer was good. Now if only it was available where I stay.

Yeah, there are a few in the big cities. They have a good wine collection as well - I got an Australian red wine called Penrose from there recently. Very good stuff. I would like to try white wines but then I dont have proper wine glasses (and I really dont want to drink wine in a beer mug )

What? No cognac lovers??!! This is an outrage!!
Anyways, yeah, I loved Martells ever since I started drinking those 2 years ago, especially the VSOP. I usually mix them with water or green tea, but never liked the mixture, until one of my colleague in the US came and introduce me to coke back method with Martell. I found that much better than mixing them. Now, I love to back my Martell with coke.
Either that or on the rocks. I love it pure and smooth

I don't drink Martells. I keep them. I have several bottles at home. The old man has quite a number of vintage bottles. I'm not even sure if they're safe to drink anymore. Some are from like, I think, the early '80s.
As for my favourite whiskey, either Chivas or Johnny Walker is fine. I'm not fussy. Jim Beam is a little rough.

I feel left out of this thread. I am only 19. And I don't plan to drink any alcoholic drinks ever. So, I have no idea what you guys are talking about.

Sometimes, when you step into the corporate world, you can't help but have to entertain friends and clients, or be entertained by your contractors, etc. You can't expect to hang around a group of guys and be drinking Pepsi.
I started drinking at 21 I think. Never liked it all that much. It's not something I'd miss if I were to stay dry for months at a time. I don't crave a whiskey like the way I crave for chocolates.
There are days when I suddenly feel like I can't think straight or I don't have any energy if I don't go out there and buy a packet of M&Ms and stuff myself silly and get a sorethroat. But I don't ever find myself thinking about going for a glass or two in the middle of the night.
