 new year s resolution 2009

did anyone accomplished any resolutions you made for the year 2009? and if you had any, what kind of resolution did you make? i cant remember if i even made any and if i did i dont think i succeeded..

and how about this year? well does anyone even make resolutions nowadays anymore? i dont think i m going to make any, if it were a resolution for a month i think i can do that but a year.. and also, i wouldnt want to wait so long to see the success i made because 1 year means you are 1 year older by then, for me at least..

---
2010.. somehow its hard to believe its already a new year again..

IIRC, the only new year's resolution I had for 2009 was to lose weight. I did lose a lot, so I would say yes, I did fulfill it. My new year's resolution for 2010 is to lose more weight, and then survive O.Chem, so yeah, I'm not really looking forward to that. <.<

Come to think of it, I didn't make any. And I achieved several things that I never set out to anyway, if you're talking about new year's resolutions.

New year's resolutions are just a lame excuse of an exercise to me. You set a "target" for yourself at the start of the year, then you get complacent because you think you have till the end of the year to achieve it. Bad habit. ANd when you near the end of the year and realize you haven't achieved anything, you make excuses to "start anew" next year. Why wait to start? Why not start NOW?

I usually just tell myself "I need to get this done." then I start doing it and get it done ASAP. There. End of story. And I always set targets that are realistic and within my control.

I don't do new years resolutions, but I make goals which I try to accomplish every now and then. For example getting better at something. I still have a long way before I've reached my goals.

A few weeks ago one guy was out of cigarettes. We asked him why he wasn't smoking like he usually was. He said he didn't have, but promised he'd start again 'til new year. Laughing Usually you make a promise to stop.
