Best anime database site I know.

I'm just new at the foruns, first reply here, but I keep looking at the site frequently, almost everyday, looking for animes, reading reviews, etc.

And I think people in here make really nice reviews, moderators do a great job at deleting unnecessary or stupid short reviews, and the top200 here is probably the best in any database site around. I look into other sites, I can call their top as "Top Pop" anime, people here look into animes with analistic eyes, that's unique.

Just one negative comment, as said by another user, moderatores could at least warn people when they delete their reviews =/ I had two reviews deleted, one the moderator restored... but probably I'll forget that I ever made some reviews... so, a warning should be great =3

I'm glad you enjoy the site so much.. You should also post more in the forum.. It's a great community here and you can discuss any anime you desire..

About the warning system.. Yeah.. it'd be nice.. Really nice.. I think there is something in the works for an update to the database, but the code is pretty jumbled around.. I'd hope that we can get a warning system to atleast shoot off an email to the user.. We'll just have to wait and see.. In the meantime.. Try to do the best job you can with your reviews.. Giving actual reasons for why you feel the way you do and you will be ok.. If you follow the guidelines fairly close and give reasons you will be fine..

Also the review mods are very helpful in getting your review restored so you can edit whatever they removed it for. The catch is you have to know what it was you reviewed.. If you copy and paste your anime list into a text file updating it as you review that would be one way to do it.

Its those who are on like 5 to 10 times a day checking the forum and answering even though they did their messages already.

I like this site because it lets people give reviews to animes, not just letting them give scores.
My concern about this site is that the color grey is kinda gloomy, I think. I suggest any color, which doesnt hurt the eyes.

well, what should i say about this site? at first i thought it was a very nice site since it gives many reviews about anime that let me watch many nice anime(like KGNE,Last Exile,Scrapped princess, etc), but right now i'm in the position that hate this site, since many nice anime that get many junk review and the mod keep deleting if somebody gives a nice review(Ex:Fate/stay night,Eureka 7,etc. So you guys have some grudge toward that anime or what????), it really make me frustated. Also why there're so many junk anime in top200(like princess tutu and wtf is perfect blue, gasaraki, all shit anime....) and many nice anime that didn't go to top 200?(c'mon, do u think that eureka 7 that suck?Shana is shit??)

As for that guy who's so irritated that there are persons with other anime taste than his, let him be. Everyone has to see few things for himself. Like, that there are boys AND girls, or that there are those who like anime A AND those who DISlike it. And both sides have reasons... usually. I stil lcannot see how someone can like Elfen Lied. That's utter crap. Oh, let's go and delete tons of positive reviews out there. At least ONCE I'll be able to tell myself - hey, this guy calls me biased, and he is right!

For less bright fellows: the above paragraph was meant as a sarcasm, I won't go to Elfen Lied review section to unjustly delete reviews out of sheer dislike for the aforementioned title.

The main site is quite easy to navigate, colors are good, no annoying rainbowy mix or silly contrasts. However I don't really like the location of the google add, probably move the manga and links section on top of it? But overall, it serves it's purpose, and that s to provide quick up-to-date information and fan reviews of animes.

Some other boards I've been in probably killed a few of my braincells *cough*WoW*cough*. I'm not exaggerating, but this one of the best forums I've been in so far. Plenty of good read, lots of fun and constructive posts, and some VERY supportive members, almost like a family even. I went absent, came back here, and there's stil that friendly, laid-back, and casual atmosphere in this board. Let's keep it that way :)

To be honest, I joined other forums for example herotv (a local site for a channel which airs anime almost 24 hrs a day here in the philippines) and I should've enjoy there more because the members are all filipinos and I can speak tagalog everytime, but I didn't enjoy there much because the whole forum is in chaos, general chats are combined with anime chats and there's many mods but they are not that active, spam posts can be found everywhere, and if you ask what's wrong with an account, you'll receive no reply.

Anyway, all I want to say is that no other forums can be compared to animenfo because everything is in order, the mods are doing their job very well, the rules are followed, the members and the mods are helpful, what more can I ask for? I just love it here!!!!

People come and people go. But there are people who stay. This community has good moderators and administrators. Also, most members, esp those regulars, are respectful. Some forums are in chaos. And some forums, though they have good mods and admins, they're harsh to newbies. It's hard to voice out your opinions.

Regarding the reviews and rankings of anime. I think it's well moderated. No ranking is perfect.... but AnimeNfo's the best I can see with less stupid reviews.

I loved this site when I first came here. And I still love this site.

This site is great i must admit, but i hope the overlord/admin can take this with a grain of salt...

What can be improve is when a user changes their avatar or signature, the browswer should automatically preview the sig/av Profile area.

So that way new users (like myself) know that something has change.(Funny thing was this site didnt show me a preview so i was getting frustrated that i couldnt see how my sig looks like, and i didnt know if it was showing xD)

Also it would be cool if there could just be a "new post" button where we can click on and see new posts in ALL categories instead of having to go through the stuff

Kudos to you guys that maintain the site and forums! It really is quite good. In fact, I dont think I have ever signed up to a forum that enforces proper english (Yay! Im in heaven!).

I havent had a problem yet...well a serious one anyway. The only things I have a bit of trouble with that might need to be brought to attention...

First problem was before I signed up...ok it wasnt really a problem. But when I signed up, I signed up 3 different times, thinking that my different email settings were blocking it. But, turns out I got the activation letters about a week later. I chose one of them and signed up without any more problems. (As for the others, I just let them sit there. I assume they have gotton deleted by now). I would have thought that it only takes minutes/hours to receive the mail. I dunno - might have been just me.

And the next thing is that, for some reason, on certain pages of any post or thread, or sometimes certain people, are kind of messed up.

One effect I see is that the left part of someones (or everyones) post (IE their avatar, post count, etc) is stretched to the middle of the page, and their post is on the next part. I read though the Recommendations thread a lot, and this seems to happen at least every one page out of ten. But it also appears in a lot of other threads as well. EDIT: Example 1

Another effect, I see less common, but happens randomly, and sometimes always with specific people. It kind of looks like they have posted twice, but its only one post. The two posts are usually separated by the toolbar with "quote" on it, and the top half text is usually bigger. Strangely, I mostly see it with one of the staff (cant remember the persons name). But it sometimes happens to other people as well. EDIT:Example 2

The formatting issue is a bug.. It's being worked on, but I think it's more of a PHP bug than something we can fix.

It's annoying I know, but we might just have to deal with it for awhile.

I gotta say, I REALLY like the overall color scheme, theme, and background/banner image (well, it's actually 2 images but you get the point).
It gives that glassy "Vista/OS X Leopard-esque" style that's just plain awesome.

It isn't quite on the level of use that Vista and OS X Leopard use it though, but it is still there decently. (like if you scroll down to where the banner is off-screen, the "glassy" feel is practically gone - though maybe you guys weren't going for that feel anyway)
