I actually cried several times while watching KGNE (i really had no idea about the anime, my friend gave it to me and said it'll make you crying, i just laughed at him..... after watching it he however laughed at me Embarassed ) But MAN i meatn WHO can stand the end of ep. 2 whitout burst into spitting tears all over the ground???!!!! and also the ending!

I also cried a little bit at the end of Air. I nearly cried at Voices of a Distant star (the nearly probably just because it's just a 1 episode OVA)
I cannot really describe my feelings at watching haibane renmei but i think i also nearly cried..

AND i cried at e few parts of some EVA fanfics... (Higher Learning's just great!)

And Yes i know i'm a sentimental Bastard, but YES i'm male! But i don't think it's embarassing to admit that i've cried... Or is it? Wink Wink

I didn't cry watching KgNE. I think the whole thing is pretty sappy. Also, I didn't cry watching Air. Instead, there are five times in the series where I wanted to puke.

However, when I was watching Gundam Seed, I feel so attached to the characters and there are five times in the anime where I almost cried ! (spoilers)

Quote:
1) When Kira returned Princess Lacus to the Zaft, Athrun came out and asked Kira to come with him. However, Kira couldn't .. because he said "I have my friends who I have to protect. So even I don't want to fight with you, I cannot come with you."

2) When Kira was trying to protect the rescue spaceship and Yzak shot that spaceship and everyone in there died. I was very sad.

3) When Athrun and his gang sneaked into the Orb's military base and Kira's bird (Tori) flew into Athrun's hand .. then Kira told Athrun "My friend made it for me. My very good friend." I was so sad. Because they didn't want to fight each other but they have to because they are in different sides !

4) When Athrun thought that he killed Kira and Cagalli was crying and said "Why you killed him ? Isn't he your friend ?" And Athrun said "Yes I killed him. He died. But why I still didn't die ?" I was very sad because I can imagine how hurt it feels to kill your best friend and Athrun thought he's dead.

5) When Kira and Athrun decided to fight together with Orb but because of the past incident, they didn't what to talk to each other. Then Cagalli ran to both of them and hugged them together and they all started crying .. I was really touched !

Ahh ... I love Gundam Seed !

I still love you Charn....

But I've got to strangle you first. Laughing

KGNE was my favourite. I've never cried so much while watching an anime!

That sorry Korean soppy tale?

Sorry, but live-action don't do anything to me at all. Not even J-drama.

Well, maybe J-drama. Just a little.

Off-topic, but isn't Summer Snow that Korean drama that was filmed at one of their popular ski resorts? There's even tour packages to see the film location being offered here for less than SGD$800 per person!

I'm a pretty tough customer when it comes to anime and feelings. In over 200 titles I have yet to find one moment that would sadden me to the point in which I would shed tears. Sad moments that had impressed me, there have been a few. FMA and the chimera affair, Chrno Crusade and the ending, Last Exile and some ending moments, Elfen Lied...I felt sad for watching the anime that is.
Now & Then, Here and There
Quote:
Sara trying to drown herself and when Shu won't let her, she grabbed that rock and tried to kill the new life forming in her woumb

Overall, I guess I'm pretty hard to shake in terms of such things. Anime doesn't do a thing for and live-action films even less.

@CyBeR .. that's right. That's one of the most touching scenes in NTHT. Although I didn't cry a wink in NTHT, but that scene is so well portrayed and you can feel the pain Sara went through ! And afterwards when ..

Quote:
Shu put his hand on her belly to prevent the stone to crush her belly so that the featus will be aborted ... then she crushed the stone on his hand again and again for the hope that he will take his hand out and she could kill the baby .. but he refused to remove his hand out of her belly even though he was obviously hurt ..

I was very touched

Also, when Sis told Sara before she

Quote:
died, "You can hate the man who raped you. You can blame the whole world if you want to. But don't hate the baby. No child borned into this world wants to be hated by their mothers." Finally, Sara decided to keep the baby and I felt really happy for her decision.

.. ah .. it feel so good talking about excellent anime !

Yeah i really forgot now and then, here and there! You two are right it's a really emotionally touching Anime, but i've never actually cried as i've done as example at KGNE. But it IS really sad! Perhaps it's because of the painting style, i didn't really like, that i wasn't crying at this one...

Besides, yesterday i've rewatched a few episodes of Aishiteru ze baby and it nearly made me cry, this charakters are just sooooo cute....

Jost one last thing i'd like to add... (i know i'm really talking too much Wink ) I don't know why but i think Suzuka really is a great anime with much emotional deep in it, but it never even got me close to crying.... it's just too silly... (i can't think of any other word for most the side-charakters Wink )

I pulled a few tears while watching KGNE. Even now thinking about it makes me feel a lil' depressed, let alone re-watching it.

Also there were moments when my eyes got watery like while watching Rahxephon and that particular moment came up with Asahina Hiroko and her "I love you" signs all over the buildings. When watching Grave of the Fireflies, although it was sad, it was no where near as sad as I hoped it to be. Saikano of course as well.

Oh and the end of Juuni Kokki Crying or Very sad I want more episodes..

Man, I didn't even dare watch it again because I knew I'd just bawl my eyes out. It was recently aired on TV and all I could do was watch as far as the OP, then I quickly switched channels.

I did catch a bit of the last episode, from the part where
Quote:
Narumi said good bye to Haruka.

How's that for crying to laughing all in several minutes?

You'd probably think I was crazy. One moment I was sobbing. The next I was smiling like a kid who's just gotten his hands on some candy.

BTW, that was SOME reason not to go to school. A broken window?

I've already watched Kiminozo 3 times and i always cried at the end of episode 2 and at the very end of the show...

It's the same with me, there just are some scenes, which make you crying and a few minutes later you just are happy...
But there was a scene which nearly blew my head it was when:
Quote:
Akane stands in the hospital room with narumi and tells Haruka that she'd slept for such a long time...

I could've kicked her Ass there because i didn't understand why she'd done that, but later in the show i think i understood her really good why she'd done it...
Man this Anime just is such a great masterpiece! It's just like a great song you never get tired listenning to it (or watching it) Razz

I only cry if I really like the characters and the universe they live in and when they hit the end of the series I'm sad because i have to wrench myself away from them since there's nothing more to watch....and than the big Owari comes and tears fill my eyes. Animes that have done that were Tenchi Muyou, Chobits, Cowboy Bebop, Metropolis, I My Me Strawberry Eggs (I don't think any else posted I My Me...i'm a lil surprised.), I cried in Record of Lodoss war 2nd series in the middle of the series because something sad happened...and surprisingly enough I didn't cry in Kimi Ga but instead was more angry and frustrated and felt the characters were stupid, thought i still enjoyed the anime. Perhaps i'm heartless.

I just finished watching KGNE and it didn't make me cry. I also found it to be sappy. I'm going to start watching Tsukihime to see if it has any effect on me.

Quote:
when him and mizuki were on the hill and she tries to run but then takayuki stops her and explains everything about how he said goodbye to haruka

that took a bit outa me too.

gaming bum, have u seen kimi ga nozomu eien? that anime has got to be the most emotional straining anime ive ever seen. i mean when i first saw ai yori aoshi i thought there couldnt be any other anime to make me cry like that, but KGNE just dwarfed it.

But yeah I'm sure they won't make me cry either. I mean I didn't even cry when bruce willis died in armageddon! Wink

I don't know how to do spoiler tags, so I'll just post the series that either made me cry, or feel sad.

Chrono Crusade *small tears*
Kannon *sadness*
NTHT *I watched this straight through and OMG, tears*

Can't think of anymore now..

Suppose I shouldn't have picked this thread for my first post.

sumimasen... I may repeat something that's already been said.. I skimmed through the later pages because the same series kept coming up. >_<

Number one...

Fruits Basket. I have shed so many tears for the characters... what they've had to go through. The impact is in that you wouldn't expect it from a series like this. There's our lesson...

... Tohru... *sniff*

I think we should all sit down and watch Fruits Basket, so we may never judge again.

Kanon-
Kanon was devastatingly sad the third, second last episodes. Something about promises really gets me, they must mean something important to me...

"sore ja... saigo no onegai...(Then... my last wish...)"

ohh... waterworks.... T_T

Spoiler:
Quote:
The only thing sadder is the entire episode 13... Yuuichi's treatment of Nayuki is absolutely horrible... "Sorry, but this is the first... and the last..." ...Nayuki!!! T_T

KgNE...
I think I watched the first episode and stopped because it was too much... ^_^;;

Mahoraba ~Heartful Days~
Spoiler:
Quote:
Episode 22, the scene with Sayoko refusing to leave Asami, and their reunion... ahh... so, so, so touching

And of course, Elfen Lied's last scene (before the credits)
Spoiler:
Quote:
When Kouta and Lucy were finally reunited... the horror of the rest of the series was finally taken away...

Other series like Evangelion had me too disturbed to cry. Spoiler: Saikano's emotional moments only had me so relieved that nothing bad happened ^_^;;

As for movies, I cried during Pearl Harbor and not Titanic... the aftermath scene of the Japanese attack hit that weak spot inside me...

um.. I guess that's it. Man, this relives some sad memories...

i never cry for actors in movies cuz i feel they all seem to fake. the parts directors want u too cry at at outragisouly unbelievable most of the time

I almost never cry, so I'm just going to say the anime that almost made me cry, the ones that made my eyes water.

I almost cried:

Fullmetal Alchemist
Quote:
when Nina got turned into a chimera by her phsycho father.

Fullmetal Alchemist
Quote:
when Hughes died.

Immortal Rain (manga)
Quote:
when Rain literally gets his heart ripped out and crushed, right after he's found something to live for, because he and Machika finally confessed their love for each other.

There are probably other parts in Fullmetal Alchemist and Immortal Rain that almost made me cry, but I probably tried to forget it, because those anime and manga are extremely depressing.

i've been close *spoiler

The first one to come up in mind is Mai HiME!I almost cried and instead walked around with a broken heart feeling:
Quote:
when Tate dies in Mai HiME. She was devastated and the animators made a good job of showing it.......*sobs*

Others that brought tears were:

Onegai Sensei:
Quote:
when they finaly meet again after 1 year apart and He remembers her.....

Great Teacher Onizuka: My eyes watered when the different love plots unfolded.

Ai Yori Aoi: just finished it and i cannot accept how it ended, the relationship parts between Aoi and Kaoru when they talk about love =P

Kiddy Grade: the fact that Elcaire and her partner suffered so much!

Franc, you need to cover up your comments about Mai Hime in proper spoiler tags (meaning do a quote tag followed by a color=white tag).

I'm alright with the other titles you commented on.

Whatever.

That's 2 strikes already.

One more and he's out of the game.

Too bad for him I just blew $230 on a new battery the other day and I'm in a bad mood. Laughing

How to mark spoilers the NFO way.

Hey, if you ask around a little, you'll find that I'm one of the nicer mods around.

Hint:

1. Read the forum rules. One of the rules states "No Spoilers!" And I don't mean the type of spoilers you put on your car.

2. Read the forum FAQs to learn how to mark your spoilers properly.

Inserting a "spoiler" in the subject line of your post isn't enough. Hey, the body of text in your post is like... an inch below your subject line. Before I even read your subject line, I've already seen the spoilers! And I can say with some certainty, nobody here even bothers to read the subject line, except when it's the first post in a thread. I know I don't.

I'll make this easy.

I'm going to post a section of text that's going to be covered up properly a a spoiler, and this is how I do it. You click on "quote" on my post and learn how to use the tags properly.

Here it goes:

This is how you do it, baby!

BTW, did you notice I changed the subject line? You didn't? Well, that just goes to show nobody even bothers to look at it.

I haven't cried over any movie at all.
But for anime...there were 2 series, what almost got me.

The first is Elfen Lied. Some scenes were just sad.

But what made a huge impact on me is Full Moon wo Sagashite:

spoiler wrote:
The 42nd episode...it was just beautiful, and really devastatingly sad. Since I haven't heard anything from this series, i didn't expect it to be so sad, so it did surprise me! And how it all ended...well it was a bittersweet-and really beautiful-ending. The best end for an anime i've ever watched (among more than 100 series now!)

By the way i watched KgNE too, but it didn't make me cry, or stuff, even though it was nice.

and there are some other which made me a little sad (like Kanon) but that's no the same thing as the mentioned 2 series.

*and what does NTHT stand for? :S sorry for the dumb question Sad
