game was amazing. Cranston if you haven't played this i suggest you do
What I see on the vndb page doesn't really rouse my interest. And seeing how I take forever to 100% complete anything, I'll give this a pass.

Have you checked out Daibanchou or Daiteikoku?

Didn't you like Ever17 cause I think you would enjoy this one if you did. It even has the moe character you love so much.
Actually, I've not read Ever17. Seeing as how you think so highly of Senjou no Maou, I'll make a note of it.

On another note, while moe is nice, I like heroics a lot more. Hence the appeal of VNs like the two aforementioned, Galaxy Angel, Seinarukana etc.

Ah, well I'm pretty sure someone around here played Ever17. That one is also a game you should read if you haven't.

Been a while since I last came here.

Finished American McGee's Alice and Alice: Madness Returns within 2 weeks. The first game is hard as hell, but the story is quite rewarding. As for Madness Returns, the gameplay is so much better, but the story ending is a bit odd, for my taste. Nevertheless, both are great game.

Currently playing No More Heroes: Heroes' Paradise for PS3. This game is freaking bloodier compared to its Wii counterpart. So far, the game is pretty interesting, and funny at certain parts, especially when the main character is charging his battery for the beam katana. He looks like he is masturbating lol.

At the same time, I am also playing Atelier Rorona, alternating between this and NMH. Hopefully, I can finish both games before Catherine comes in at the end of the month....

Double posting, yay!!

Completed No More Heroes a few days ago! The game is awesome! The story is very plain, with lots of its own quirks and tons of profanities, but loved it, nevertheless! The blood is quite exaggerated though and sometimes covers the screen, which can be irritating at times. Overall, very good game and I am planning to finish this at higher difficulty at later time.

Got Catherine on Tuesday, and I should say that this game is hard as hell, but it is also fun as hell! The story is quite interesting so far. Going to get Katherine ending, before going for the sexy young Catherine =P

i also picked up Catherine. I decided to man it up and start out playing on Hard Mode. This has proven to be a bad idea of sorts and this game is kicking my ass. Although I do like having a challenge. So this will prove to be a rewarding experience as I work through it.

Wow, you really love the challenge if you played this on hard. I played on normal and I am ready to throw my controller to the TV....

Yeah, it's quite aggravating at times but then I again, I pretty much always play games on hard mode when I play them for the first time if available. So over the years it has made me learn how to play games quick. Practice makes perfect.

But as it is I got it on sunday, and right now i am forgoing sleep to finish off the very end of the game. So tomorrow at work i will be a zombie, and it will be my own damn fault woot!

Got my hands on L.A. Noir. Looks good. The interrogation sequences which involves examining facial cues in order to determine whether or not your witness/suspect is lying is unique, shows off some of the capabilities of the new gen consoles. But I hate driving. I can't control the cars well. Neutral

Hahaha, go for it!

Anyways, I finished Katherine and Catherine's True Ending. So far, I only have around 4-5 golds for normal puzzles. Currently trying to gold everything, but the last few stages of the last dungeon can be a pain in the ass (Darn you, monster blocks!!). I am going for True Freedom ED right now. Should be able to finish within 2-3 days.

Still fooling around with this during the weekends, but most of my time is being spent (as usual) on visual novels. Of these, there're 2 I'd like to comment on:

1. Fortune Arterial trial version - A game by August, who also produced Yoake Mae Yori Ruri-irona. From what I could see, the anime followed this very closely, and it was good. The story premise is interesting and I really liked a number of the characters. The CGs were a bit disappointing. Some were good, some not so much. On the other hand, there's a couple of awesome ones. I'll post all I have later on.

In conclusion, Fortune Arterial is definitely on my list of visual novels to get some day. However, I've got such a large pending collection I may never get to it. In fact, I've not even started Yoake Mae yet either. Confused

2. Edelweiss - Completed 1 route just last night. Hard to believe, but my girl became crippled (paraplegic) just when things were going well. The story-writers really sucker punched me. The story was all fun and games right until that moment. Now I'm afraid of what will happen in the other routes. (Although, to be fair, the route did end on a hopeful note.)

Finished a 2nd route, and my girl died! Now I'm positively terrified of what may happen in other routes. Seems that some scriptwriter somewhere doesn't believe in happily-ever-after.

Went back to a number of stalled games.

First is Agarest Wars. Restarted from the beginning, this time at easy difficulty. There's a big disparity in the difficulty levels. In normal difficulty, my characters were made out of glass and died too easily. In easy, my characters only have to endure scratches although the monsters still take quite a bit of killing.

Secondly, Sengoku Rance. Hoping to clear another campaign and unlock CGs.

Third, Princess Lover. Unfortunately, immediately after reloading my save game, I ran into two sex scenes one after the other. Now I remember I had been running 3 different routes at the same time and all of them were bogged down at sex scenes. If only I can just get past these, I might be able to put this away permanently. (Although I still love Seika very much! Embarassed )

Taking a break from my PS3 games, while waiting for Shadow of Collosus and ICO Collection in the next few days.

After seeing the images of Galaxy Angel in Cranston's VN images thread, I finally managed to play this game and finished it.

So far, I managed to get Vanilla's route, which is unexpected, since I am actually wanted to get Milfeulle's ending, but for certain reason, I got rejected >_>'

Anyways, replaying the second time for Milfeulle's ending.

huh, It's been a while since I posted in this thread. I was more or less on vacation during august, so I took that time to finish some games on the backlog.

Bioshock 1
Final Fantasy 13
God of War 3
Command and Conquer 4
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Alpha Protocol
Condemned: Criminal Origins
Vanquish
Medal Of Honor
Enslaved
Singularity

For that glorious month in August, I truly felt free. Lazy, but free.

Fastforward to now, I finally completed Torchlight, which has been sitting on my computer for a while.

To commemorate Deus Ex: Human Revolution, I installed Deus Ex: Invisible War, but I'm having issues playing with it, specifically, the game makes me feel nauseous after a few minutes. I think it's a FOV issue, and I need to figure out what's causing it.

Wow! I can't imagine being able to clear so many games in a single month.

On topic (update since last update):
Once again, I hit a block wall with regards to Princess Lover and Agarest War. Inside a mere 1.5 weeks. Rolling Eyes Short attention span? Easily bored?

Still progressing on Sengoku Rance but alternating with Daiteikoku (for which I'm missing just a few CGs).

Played Valkyria Chronicles (new game) for quite a number of hours over the week. This is positively my favourite PS3 game.

Also cleared (the last of the 2 of) Kaoru's route in Amagami. Then spent hours trying to unlock a particular scene involving Morishima-sempai and Kaoru, but couldn't figure out the pre-conditions. Then revisited the events of Tsukasa's routes. Anyway, with Kaoru's routes cleared, that means I've cleared all the 6 main characters (Haruka, Tsukasa, Kaoru, Nanasaki, Sae, and Rihoko). Now to see if I can get to the events of stalker-girl.

Got Atelier Totori last night and played it for 3 hours. As expected from Gust, the graphics ain't quite there, but for some indefinable reason, I find the figure of Totori running around with her fluttering arms impossibly girlishly cute. I could die of diabetes. Laughing As for the other aspects, i.e. battles, gathering ingredients, and synthesizing, they're pretty standard for Atelier games. But it's a proven formula which works, so it's fine. There are a couple of things: Totori is very fragile, and synthesizing is a cinch. Unlike previous Gust games which I've played, instead of hack and slash in battle, I'm using the character to spam items. (Of the explosive kind.)

Nice!! Just too bad I need to finish Rorona first before going for this. And I still have ICO and Shadow of the Collosus.... ARRGGHH!! Too many games!!

Anyways, for now, I have finished the first Galaxy Angel heroines, with exception of the sub-route, which I do not really care much.

Onto the second GA game, Moonlit Lovers. I have already completed Vanilla, Mint, Milfieulle, and Forte's route. Going for the last 2, which is Ranpha and Chitose. I am quite surprised at Forte's route. Unexpectedly romantic lol.

For PS3, tried the first few hours of Shadow of the Collosus. Defeated the first 2 collossi, which are surprisingly easy. The graphics are incredible so far, and the gameplay is amazing. Hopefully, I can get more difficult collossi to defeat and be amazed at =)

Hahaha, will do. I managed to unlock everything, so I can do that =).

Finally, after Moonlit Lovers, I am in Eternal Lovers. Going for Vanilla's route first, before going for others.

As for PS3, I managed to play the first hour of Ace Combat: Assault Horizon. I haven't played this series since Ace Combat Zero, so going for the least difficulty. So far, the battle looks great and the planes breaking up is so detailed that I loved it. Just too bad we cannot purchase planes like previous Ace Combat series. All planes for each mission is preset, so we are pretty much stuck at those. Despite this shortcoming, the combat is awesome. Looks like Rorona and Totori has to wait.... again.

*sigh*

So far, I find Mint and Vanilla are the most interesting. Milfeulle and Ranpha are too cliched, and Forte is quite unromantic, although in Moonlit, she was, especially after the Final Weapon revelation. Chitose is too.... bland, for my taste.

You lolicon! Laughing I must admire your perseverance. I only completed Milfie's, Chitose's, and Vanilla's routes in the 3 games. And Mint's in Moonlit Lovers. I can't work up the will if I don't care enough about the characters.

I like Vanilla the best. What can I say? Moe. Her small size, her seeming lack of emotion, the vulnerability beneath her hyper-competence... It's an irresistible draw. Feel a little guilty about her age, though. However, the relationship in the first game was something akin to close siblings. Then as the game progresses (and the years go by), the relationship deepens and changes.

I like Milfie for her genki but doji personality. Stereotypical, but nonetheless, very cute. Also her thoughtfulness and attentive nature.

Chitose is a bit of a puzzle. I can't really nail down why I like her. Is the mystical draw of the yamato nadeshiko that strong? Is it just because tall, dark and bishoujo is my type?

Although I never did get into Ranpha's routes, I do have to say I find her love-maniac character adorable. However, that, strangely doesn't appear until actually entering her route. She's normally so tsun-tsun and oujo that it doesn't show. I guess she just left me with a bad impression.

I mostly fast forward the parts where I know that the conversation will be pretty much the same as in any other route. It is too bad that there is no option to skip those read messages like any other galge, but well, that can be resolved quickly with the CTRL button hahaha.

I enjoyed seeing her relationship throughout the trilogy. For me, she is an example of hard-working girl, who always think for the best for others, but not for herself and how years of being emotionless is taking its toll once she need to express it when she enter into relationship with Takuto.

As for her age, I feel kind of guilty too since even after the event in Eternal Lovers, she is still pretty much 14, maximum 16, so the kissing scene, for some, can be taken differently, but for me, it is the story that matters. I am only concerned if this is an eroge, which it is not.

I grew to like her route also, especially during Eternal Lover events. One of the most touching story, so far, in the game, especially the aftermath of

I have not finished her ending, and I should be soon.

Well, she is quite a new cast, so maybe, it will improve in Eternal Lovers, but well, I usually played her last, so it will take a while =P

OK, back to the topic.

For now, I have finished Mint and Vanilla's route in Eternal Lovers. I am currently on Milfie's last part of her route and I should be able to start on Forte, Ranpha and Chitose. Phew! Still have a few more hours to go!

As for PS3, I am still playing Ace Combat: Assault Horizon, which I played while sometimes taking a break from Galaxy Angels Trilogy. So far, the game is absolutely stunning, and the story and plot is intriguing. The planes are very detailed, and I loved it when I saw lots of metals flying when shooting them down! It is an amazing sight!

Recently completed Esperia's route in Eien no Aselia. That leaves just Orpha left for 100% completion.

Also recently completed was Kotori's route in Da Capo. While I had bought this around June of 2010, I had never touched it (other than test load) until now.

After I had completed the above playthrough of Eien no Aselia, I was looking over the VN icons on my desktop trying to figure out what to do next. I had quite a number of uncompleted titles, but my gaze was drawn by Clannad. I've not completed Fuko, Nagisa, and After Story, but what came to mind was that I wished to read Kotomi's story again. So, I started what is probably my 3rd playthrough of Kotomi's route. Laughing

A few days ago, I also started another playthrough of Amagami. Trying to get the scenes involving Risa. Slow progress since I'm unwilling to fast forward the text. Razz

Currently alternating between Valkyria Chronicles (replay) and Atelier Totori (1st playthrough) for my PS3 fix. Also playing Sengoku Rance off and on.

Do you have any tips on this game? I am quite ashamed to say that I have gone through multiple game overs, even for the first mission.... I am still seeing blanks on the mechanics of this game. Nevertheless, I completed the first mission with C rank... >_>''

Anyways, for the Galaxy Angel Trilogy, I finally completed all the female route and collected all the pictures for all... *Phew* That is a long journey, but it is worth every minute.

As for PS3, I am still playing Atelier Rorona. Still trying to complete this game before going forward with Atelier Totori.

For PSP, I picked up Fate/Extra, and so far, loving it, although I lost count on how many time I died. Either way, nearly halfway through the game. After that, going for Caster and Archer Route.

I guess the most important tip is not to charge out of town and attack the enemy. When you capture a town, or if you're starting out in one, stay there and defend until the enemy stop coming after you. The most critical aspect of the game is the limited skill use. Staying in town replenishes your skill use, and seeing as how the enemy has vast numerical superiority, you can see why it is necessary to play turtle.

Next thing to keep in mind is to always check your selected skills and roles during the pre-combat phase. Generally, as long as your defender's skill's defense value equals or exceeds the enemy attacker's attack value, you should be fine. Also don't forget the number of times a skill can be used in one round. However, while Esperia has high defense, her magic resistance is very low, which makes her easily killed by red units in the support role. It's usually a good idea to have Esperia and Aselia in the same team.

Started a new game of Persona 3 a week ago de arimasu.
Originally booted up Amagami and re-read some of her events, then decided to play something more exciting de arimasu.
Have just got Fuuka to join the team de arimasu.

UGH! I wanna play Skyrim but it's sold out everywhere. Stupid black friday shopping. I've heard it's pretty sick.

Other than that, just a crap load of Gears of War 3 and MW3.

Doesn't look like my fellow nfo gamers are playing many shooters :-/

If you fucking posted more often then maybe we'd come out of the woodwork, you dipshit

(I missed you!<3)

I just finished The Darkness last night. It was alright. I paid 2.99 for it, so I got my money's worth. I also finished Crackdown which wasn't too bad.

I also finished Metal Gear Solid 4.

MGS4 is one of the best games I've ever played. It's certainly the best console game I've played for this generation.

Haven't been playing much console games since I am out of home for most of the weeks.

Instead, I have been playing constantly Fate/EXTRA in PSP. Completed Saber's Route and currently on second runthrough of Caster. I screwed up one choice in her route, and I did not get the full story of Caster, other than her true name. Hopefully can finish this route with her full story, before going for Archer's route.

Testing out atm Blacklight beta, its some sort of... mmo shooter?
Also, just played Call of Duty: World at War, at a lan-party.
I used to be playing Hellgate:London, which is also a first person shooter hybrid.
Though, the most played "shooters" that Iv been playing are L4D2 & portal 1-2.

We were supposed to buy MW3, me and ~10 friends of mine, but somehow none of us ended up getting it. O_o;

Do you have any tips on this game?
Don't know if you're still interested, but I was looking through some old files and came across some notes I made for Eien no Aselia in order to get rank SS.

chapter 1

mission 1 : 11 turns
move forward, never retreat.
if enemy unit has no attacker, or attacker is almost dead,
split your unit and put everyone in attack role.
advance south at ambush spot, let northern unit chase after you.

mission 2 : 6 turns
lvl up aselia to get ice vanisher II

mission 3: 4+turns
yuuto stays at base, level up to lvl4.
send orfa to dragon.
use esperia and aselia to defend approach city.

chapter2
mission 1 outbreak of war: 25+turns
keep one person at rear.
at fork in road, beware of enemy unit appearing in the 1st cave to the east.
if close to finish, send all but one unit back to capital

mission 2:
unknown.
unable to attack enemies so you're forced to wait for them to come out.
even if you destroy all 5 units in 17 turns, rank A
doesn't seem possible to do it faster
leave one unit including esperia in east for next mission.

mission 3 gain control of samoudoa: 6+turns

mission 4 Go south: <17 turns

mission 5 a faint pulse: 11+ turns

mission 6 the betrayal: 20+ turns

mission 7 it runs in a plain: 14+ turns

mission 8 northern unification war: 15+ turns

chapter 3

mission 2 across the way of heriyas: 13+ turns
wait out the enemy assault in the starting city.

mission 4 genious and ordinary ability: 12+ turns
wait out the attacking units

mission 5 the etrangers: 30turns
to defeat kouin, use weak attacks until he runs out of defense skill usage

chapter 4

mission 1 counterattack: 13+ turns

mission 2 total war: <42turns

mission 3 nihilistic empire:<<19 turns

Doing a little advertising:
Mangagamers recently released the trial version of Deardrops, and I completed it over the weekend. It's quite nice. I recommend it for anyone interested in VNs. I've also put up CGs in the usual place.

Acquired Deus Ex Human Revolution on Friday and have been playing it over the weekend. This is a good game, well deserving of the high ratings it gets.

Still playing Deus Ex Human Revolution, should be close to the end. I must say that the inclusion of Zombie Apocalypse stage is so cliched it stinks to high heaven.

At the same time, I've been playing this rather dated turn-based strategy game called Gadget Trial. It's like Advance Wars, but where your units are formed by mecha musume. Laughing The story goes that a new weapon system has been developed, robot girls with strap-on variable weapons modules (if anyone remembers an old cartoon called (iirc) the Centurions). Further, in order to be able to command armies, the girls have the ability clone themselves via mitosis. Laughing Anyway, it's great fun.

Just got finished playing Corpse Party on the PSP. It is a download only game, so it cannot be bought in store. It was really really good. A game where these friends perform a ritual to stay friends forever, but they perform it wrong and get transported into this alternate dimension of their school. They are also separated from each other, and the halls are occupied by dead corpses of other people that have performed the ritual wrong. While there you are greeted by hostile spirits and find out about the cruel history of the school you are going to. It is split into 5 chapters each ranging about 1-4 hours. And 10 extra chapters that you unlock by getting the wrong endings to each chapter. And the voice acting!!!! REALLY GOOD!

Recently purchased a copy of Heroes of Might and Magic Collection which includes all the HoMM games from 1 till 5 including all the expansions (so pretty much every game in the franchise except 6).

HoMM 1 was so old that I had trouble running it with modern day technology so I just skipped it. Finished HoMM 2 a few weeks ago and I'm currently on the last campaign of the HoMM 3 prequel expansion (shadow something). Brings back so many fond memories. Wish I re-played this franchise a lot sooner instead of perfecting my JRPGS on consoles.

I have a few of the HoMM titles myself, and I've been meaning to play them as well, but there's just so much on the backlog shelf to deal with.

Speaking of, I just opened up and played a bit of Infinite Undiscovery.

I really hope it doesn't take too long to get through it.

Over past few weeks been replaying Tears of Blood. I'd forgotten how awful the voice acting is. Regardless, I'm rather fond of the story. Clocked over 50 hours playing time already but still quite a bit from the end.

At the same time, replaying Mass Effect 2. A refresher course for Mass Effect 3. Laughing Almost done. Just need to grab the IFF and give the Collectors a beat-down.

Played and completed 1 ending of Mass Effect 3.
I really, really dislike the ending.
I was having so much fun and awesome right up until that ending.
What kind of crap ending is this?

Forgot to mention that I was very pleased to find that ME3 ran well on my low-spec PC. It's so low-spec I can't run any Total War game after Rome. Laughing

Currently playing No More Heroes: Soul of Guardian for PC. This game is freaking bloodier compared to its Wii counterpart. So far, the game is pretty interesting, and funny at certain parts, especially when the main character is charging his battery for the beam katana. He looks like he is masturbating lol.
